Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG) is a mod for the games "Men of War" and "Men of War: Assault Squad" that randomly generates skirmish missions and lets you keep your surviving forces from one battle to another. i have re install men of war over 6 times on my computer just to see this generator work.. so i got to get it to work.
reason i have to do that is i get the error and cant run the game. but i notice on the sixth time i got it, if i just tried to run it one more time ... the game only
then it work work. yes i download all of the patches and microcrap for this generator... so here are my answers to you questions

1) Which version of DCG are you using (original, Assault Squad, or Vietnam)?

using 3.5

2) Which version of Windows are you using?

using win 8 pro x64

3) Where is your Men of War game installed (eg. C:\Games\1C Company\Men of War. Assault Squad)?

C:\GAMES\1C Company\Men of War. Assault Squad. Game Of The Year

4) What were you doing when you encountered the error?

when u run the add all maps or extact  i get that error when you first setup and run dcg 3.5 program.

5) What is the text of the error message you see, if any?
file not found for the game.pak and check that the men of war folder is entered correctly and map pak  are listed correctly in the setting XML 
i hit ok 2 or 3 times and it says all maps extracted..  i go thought the motion of the next few screens then leave open and start men of war and it crashes.

i dont know how to add the screen shot on this page but i will save it and hopefully someone will post how to up load the thing

You did download the correct version for MoW:AS and not the version for MoW by mistake? And also, have you installed/updated the XML, .NET and Visual #J subprograms (which can all be found for free at Microsoft webpage)?

Your Version 2.05.15. that is Assault Squads current version not Men of War. They are two different games that require to different versions of DCG and I think you have confused them.

1. Make sure your running the correct version of DCG for the correct game.

2. My gamelogic.pak is located in this dir...  (Men of War Assault Squad/resource/gamelogic.pak)  Where is your found?

3. I'm not familiar with running DCG in Windows 8 but did you install all the necessary support programs for DCG? XNA 3.1, Netframework 2.0, Visual J# 2.0

SOME OF A b#$#$CH ... HI ALL... wow that was fast ... really fast response to my question and yes Ty2903 ... ya i did do that... wow i cant read... or see... now to find someone and slap me up against my stupid a##$ head a few times .. Yes Zeke_Wolff i did all of the microcrap so i check and recheck that one for sure but man didnt know there were 2 dcg ... one has 5 directories the other the one i need only 4 directories.. and because i just mess it up i finally saw all my maps load so now i have to reinstall and do over the game again becasue its now letting me in.. will post final results in a few hrs and thanks for all of the real help. you people are just wonderfull

Hi, I just downloaded your mod and was able to play the first misson but when I loaded up the second one my troops were off the map and I couldn't move them. What do I do to fix this?

Hello, I've been playing your mod for awhile and am absolutely loving it. 
However I am having an issue, this error has popped up a few times. I ignored it twice and each time it did something funky and reset my mission. 
The error comes about at the end of the pre-operation screen where you place your units on the field, I have noticed that I get it after buying such units as the PanzerWerfer or Mörser Karl, although this most recent time I was able to use the PanzerWerfer through a number of operations before encountering the error.

@Foxglove: thanks for the bug report - glad you are enjoying it.  I tried a Morser Karl recently and had no problems that I can recall, but it's possible it's a bug I have fixed.  Can you send me your log.txt file (from the mods\campaign folder) next time it happens, please.  I gather this is vanilla MoW (ie not AS) and this doesn't happen when you aren't using more common vehicles?  Can you verify your patch number and tell us what version of Windows you have and whether you are using Steam?  Any info you can provide about your setup could prove helpful.

Ah, of course I'll make sure to send you the log.txt file if it happens again.
Lets see, it is indeed plain old MoW, and it does not happen with more common vehicles. I don't have a patch I think, I just downloaded the DCG 3.5 full for MoW that was in your downloads, and bypassed the patches with the consideration that it said it was the full version and the patches were outdated.
I am running Windows 7 and using steam.

@Foxglove; Is your Men of War game patched to the latest version, ie. 1.17.5? If not, then please make sure that it is. DCG3.5 is made for the latest patch of MoW, and if your game isnt updated, it will cause strange behaviour.

Yes, I believe so, it says so in the change log anyhow. But I am not that adept at anything having to do with computers so...

Just started a new operation in this campaign and was able to buy both a PanzerWerfer and Karl. Will see how it goes and edit this post later.
Played three games with the new units without a hitch... Nothing seems to have changed so I have no idea what was causing the problems before. Hope it stays like this and I'll post something if it starts acting up again.
Also, Karl was a bit underwhelming...

Hello again, the game has been working spiffingly for me lately but I have run into another game issue, not debilitating but still worth mentioning. It seems the Königstiger with Porsche Turret has an armor deficiency. I have had instances where it is repeatedly penetrated from the direct front (Upper Glacis) by low caliber guns at long ranges, always resulting in a Hull Destroyed result, presumably because the caliber of gun is so large compared to the armour thickness that it's destroying it utterly. I wasn't having this problem with the plain Königstiger with Henschel turret so I'm assuming it's Porsche specific.

Running plain Men of War on Steam and Windows7.

Thanks for the info on the Porsche TigerB.  I have noticed from time to time that the vanilla vehicles have weird values, but we try to fix them when we notice.

By the way, your earlier problem may have been caused by the fact that you've got Steam installed in C:\program files.  If you ever do a reinstall, maybe put it in C:\Games or something instead...

By the way, is there a way to remove the range limit on weapons? I'm finding it very difficult to shoot down aircraft because if you aim in front, necessary to hit them, then the reticule registers it as being outside the guns range and I cant fire. I don't know how the AI shoots them down, and using my tanks no less.

Yes, you can change the range but I don't know how myself.  Ty2903 or Zeke could tell you better.  If you look in Ty2903's realism mod, there should be examples of that kind of stuff.

Im trying to change the variables of <unitsbasemax> "unit limit" to higher then the standard 40 in settings.xml

The game still shows 40 after I try to change. What am I doing wrong?


And is it possible to change the procurement points? I want to use this mod to its full potential.

By using the "Easy Start" option in the settings, you´ll get 50% more points when beginning a new campaign.

Dont know about your other problem, since I aint the coder of DCG. However, you can buy more troops than the standard 40 but you´ll have to pay a LOT more for these units.

Sparx471 - Changes to the settings xml don't apply till after you restart the campaign.exe. Changing the unit base probably won't happen until you start a brand new campaign again.
