Yes, if you download it via MSDN: Msdn.duke4.net

Whoops, sorry I was up at 2:00 am making this message. What I meant to ask was: Can you do download it without WinZip?

The ModDB download link provides a RAR version. We're not gonna make an installer as that'd be pointless.

See the txt for installation instructions. You can play the mod if you've got the Megaton edition but you cannot play the mod through Steam.

First let me start off by saying that the creators of this mod did an excellent job. It's pretty damn fun.
My question is; can this mod be used with the Hi Definition pack?
If so how?
If not.... do you guys have any intentions of trying to make your own HiDef pack?
As fun as this mod is...the 2 dimensional characters bothers me.... and i guess I'm the only one. But again this is pretty outstanding, and really easy to install. Thanks again for the hard work yall put into this mod.
Overall i give it an 8.5/10

Sorry dude but we haven't the slightest intention of supporting or making any hi-res versions. The vast majority of mappers don't really like the High-Resolution Pack.

Thats very disappointing. Can I ask why mappers don't like the Hi-res pack?
At any rate this was a pretty good romp. Although I am a majority of one in that I still like DNF better. Sorry, can't please 'em all I guess, but this is your baby and you make the decisions.

Mikko_Sandt Jun 25 2013, 5:07pm replied:

If mappers have stayed with Duke3D this long, they obviously don't consider hi-res graphics important at all (for this game at least). Moreover, the HRP is a somewhat inconsistent bag of textures and models, not something produced by a unified team. Mappers are comfortable with the textures they've been using since forever and find these new interpretations of them sometimes downright sacrilegious. In particular they make old maps look very bad because those maps were never designed for the HRP.

I'm sorry but to me that soudnds like a cop-out. Yall do what ya need. But I thought the Hi-res pack looked, played better...less of an eye sore.

Well if you think our choice to go with 8-bit graphics was a "cop-out" then it's really your problem. We absolutely couldn't care less.

If you cannot see the file extension then just look for a file named "DNF" that looks kinda like an executable (in Win7 the icon has two cogs).

Hey guys when I'm launching this mod on Windows 7 64bit when the intro sequence is playing I have it like mashed textures and everything not nice like in the video :( When I enter the game when I move my mouse everything just blurs like tousands of bilard tables or tousands of bottles standing on the shelf etc. So it's unplayable it's like windows error you can get sometimes and when you move that error window it draws tousands of other the same ones. How to make it playable?

That´s because you need to place a copy of duke3d.grp (which is 43mb big) inside the mod´s folder.

No. It comes with its own executable and you need the Atomic Edition duke3d.grp file to run with it.
