DrugWars is a highly anticipated mod for the high end game BattleFielf 2. Use over 30 weapons, and 20 vehicles to either battle drug runners, or run the drugs yourself across over 20 multiplayer levels, and an extensive singleplayer campaign. Featuring both singleplayer and multiplayer action, DrugWars will push the Battlefield 2 to its limits by delivering unequaled amounts of foliage and general detail in dozens of real world locations, ranging from the humid jungles of the Amazon, to the sprawling night life of Las Vegas, to the cold streets of St. Petersburg.
DrugWars is being developed by Nord1c Design, a modest gathering of developers dedicated to game and modification development. Some of us have even been in the retail game development industry, meaning that we really know how to make fun games. We are devoted to taking our level of finesse and diligence to the extreme. The care put into each part of the game is evident in the ultra realistic weapons, the meticulously thought out maps, and the action packed gameplay design.
Development of DrugWars started in late 2003, before FarCry was the center of the modding stage. We have decided to put forth our best effort in making a truely stellar game, rather than rushing it out, pushing the expected release date to mid 2005. In the mean time, you should expect numerous screenshots, trailers, and even public beta releases, giving a taste of what this mod will boast in its final form.
Update: In the mean time, we've ported over to the Battlefield 2 engine, so please forgive any inconsistencies in the above description.

Hey guys!
FPSCentral was nice enough to conduct an interview with the DrugWars team. Here is a portion of it:
What do you think will set Drug Wars different from the rest of the mods?
San-J: The dirt-bike! Seriously, I don't think many mods can promise gameplay like this: You are racing towards the drop-off on your dirt bike. A police helicopter is laying down a wall of lead on your heals, while you are desperately dodging bullets and trees. You aim behind you, and cap them with your mp5k.
License2Kill: Just the fact that it has to do with drugs. No other mod I have ever seen completely revolves around drugs.

nice dirt bike! i cant freakin wait!
Looks like a cross between gta with the unbelievable cryengine, its gonna rule! :)
Okay, we're about to have a major update including in-game screenshots of helicopters, dirt bikes, and plenty of guns. Brace yourself, or you'll be blown away.
It was never planned to be released on HL2 (that I recall). It will first be on FarCry, and if it is successful, it will be ported to the STALKER engine.
Seriously the mod looks interesting but why should we follow it if its going to hop from like 3 different game engines???
Can you explain? Farcry,HL2,Stalker
THe problem is, even when i have a good video card. I go into indoor enviorments and it gets laggy.
C'mon guys, nuthin to say?
well, it is designed for jungles, but it can handle indoor environments pretty well... I don't see why it couldn't support cities, so yes, i think it is probably pretty good for cities. In fact, DrugWars will feature MANY city maps ;)
