In the new year, DreamCasters' Duel will be transitioning from a mod to an indie game. I'm sorry to disappoint those of you who were looking forward to playing DreamCasters' Duel as a Unreal Tournament 2004 mod, but the current non-business model of doing everything myself and releasing it for free1 has become entirely unsustainable. Actually, it has been for some time now.
And so I have given up my job as an ESL teacher and I am actively pursuing my dream of becoming a professional video game developer.
To kick-start things off, I've launched the DreamCasters' Duel funding project off at kickstarter.com. Current incentives for funding are;
- $1 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga
- $3 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga (available in March) and a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Soundtrack including a previously unreleased track
- $5 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga (available in March), a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Soundtrack including a previously unreleased track, and a copy of the DCD ashcan Manga delivered to your door!
- $7 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga (available in March) , a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Soundtrack including a previously unreleased track, and a copy of the DCD ashcan Manga (available in April-May) delivered to your door! Additionally, the ashcan copy is signed.
- $10 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga (available in March) , a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Soundtrack including a previously unreleased track, and a copy of the DCD ashcan Manga (available in April-May) delivered to your door! Additionally, the ashcan copy is signed. If you are among the first 50 people to pledge at this level or higher you will also receive a CD of Tripwire - The Blue Distro from which the DreamCasters' Duel tracks derive as well as a Tripwire sticker!
- $20 - a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Manga (available in March) , a digital copy of the DreamCasters' Duel Soundtrack including a previously unreleased track, and a copy of the DCD ashcan Manga (available in April-May) delivered to your door! Additionally, the ashcan copy is signed. If you are among the first 50 people to pledge at this level or higher you will also receive a CD of Tripwire - The Blue Distro from which the DreamCasters' Duel tracks derive as well as a Tripwire sticker! As if all that wasn't enough, you will receive a digital copy of DreamCasters' Duel PC version!
