Battle For Skyrim

Dragonborn's war allows the player to build up their own army, offering many customization options such as class and gear. With that army, the player will be able to conquer enemy forts and cities, putting in new Jarls or making the current one bow to you. Also while offering new and unique city battles, not seen in the vanilla game.

New Faces

Dragonborn's war adds in many new and unique NPCs to the game, each with their own backstory's and tales from their past. All of them being able to bring their own skills and perks to your faction, as well as having their own small side quests for the player to complete.

Become High King

Dragonborn's war offers a wide range of features for after the player has taken control of Skyrim. Create an elite security force to protect you at all times, arrange diplomatic meetings with the other important figures in Tamriel, receive the correct recognition of your status from all NPCs in Skyrim (including Nazeem) or request and NPC to be executed (including Nazeem) as well as much more.

Build and improve Skyrim's forts and Cities

Dragonborn's war allows the player to build and improve the forts and cities of Skyrim once they are under their control. Every city will have their own unique buildings and upgrades, such as rebuilding Whiterun's walls, or expanding the docks of Windhelm. Every fort will have unique styles to them, making each seem special.

Dragonborn's war is a large mod, adding more than just the ability to take forts and cities. It allows the player to take control of Skyrim, and steer it in their own path. We have a huge list of features we plan to add, with a few coming from the Skyrim community. We also have big plans for other Skyrim mods in the future, however we won't be starting any of those ideas until Dragonborn's war is in a fun and playable state.

Update 2

DragonbornsWarLogo

It hasn't been long since the first update, however that is because we have been able to put a lot of time into the mod lately. This update will go into building and garrison management.

Building

The basic building mechanic has been added into the mod.

Barracks

To build something, you must talk to your construction manager. He will then ask what location you wish to build in, and then what you want being built. If you have the correct amount of gold, he will then construct the building. Now that we have created the mechanic, we now need to add different buildings to the forts. One of the first building you will want to build are the barracks. This will allow you to recruit a garrison for the fort or city, and also recruit a general.

Garrison

Once you have a barracks, you will be able to recruit a garrison. To recruit a garrison, you will need to recruit a general, then ask him about recruitment.

Recruit

Then you will need to give him a location to recruit a garrison for.

Garrison

The General will then recruit a garrison for the fort, that you will have to pay weekly to maintain.

Dragonborn's Soldier

Garrisons have three equipment tiers. Upgrading from one tier to another increases the stats of soldiers and their equipment. Each tier also has different outfit combinations that can be changed at the fort or cities barracks. Increasing the tier of a garrison will increase their weekly cost, but they will do a better job at defending your fort and look cooler.

Alpha

At the moment, most of the basic mechanics have been created. That is why we are thinking of creating an early alpha version, and releasing it in about a week. This version will only allow you to own one fort, but it will have the features of building and upgrading the fort, managing a garrison, defending from attacks and performing ambush attacks. This alpha version will be a small view into the larger mod, and will still be filled with features for you to enjoy. All we have to do is apply all of our created mechanics to other forts in Skyrim, and the Alpha will be ready. There will probably be one more update this week, showing of the defend and ambush mission, and then we will probably go silent after the alphas release. That is because we will be working on adding all the unique buildings and garrisons to every fort in Skyrim, so we won't have anything new to show of for a while. If we go silent, don't worry the mod isn't dead.

OMG this is kinda like what I would have done if I written the civil war /main quest. (Expect the blades would have been that third faction, lol) Hope this releases!

Totally agree there The Blades should be basis for the Dragonborn's faction at least early on. Historically as the Dragonguard their two duties were the annihilation of dragons and to serve the Dragonborn (because of their dragonslaying abilities). Plus it would be sweet to lead a personal retinue of soldiers in Akaviri attire.

The Blades will not be the basis for the faction. However, they will still play a part in the mod.

Once you have a big enough army/following, would it make sense challenging Ulfric for the right to lead the rebellion? He dueled the King in such a way. It would be amazing to lead the Stormcloaks yourself instead of having to follow such a wiener

I like the idea, however at the moment this isn't something that we will be working on, and probably not working on for a while. However, we will definitely consider working on something like this at a later date.

I think you should include pale pass in this so that the empire cant replenish. there should be a advantage to taking it will be like the imperials have 1 third of there normal amount of troops in raids and their garrisons.

Or maybe we are saving Pale Pass for a mod after this one, one that is in very early concept stage...

The Forsworn path is more of a side project, and won't be fully worked on until the first few version of the main mod is released. However, we do like the idea and do want to work on it at some point.
