DragonBall Source is a DBZ mod for Half-Life 2's Source Engine. This mod is now a Multiplayer Mod, and not SinglePlayer like previously intended. Each character will be assigned their own specific set of attacks, with power levels balances to create fair and balanced gameplay. The main multiplayer game is a team based game with two different sub-modes, namely "Capture the Dragonballs" and "King of the Hill". The "Saiyan Saga" (first release) has been released and is currently available via the Downloads page. The next major release will be the "Namek Saga" containing even more characters and maps. There will also be more features, which will mainly focus on transformations. The new character list hasn't been decided upon yet, but there should be between 15 and 20 extra characters to choose from.

Following on from last weeks ingame clip of some work in progress maps/models/attacks/etc (see previous news post), Gundy has released all his WIP screenshots, an amazing 25 in total, displaying some new maps (not DBZ specific locations) which are still work in progress themselves, as well as something the public hasn't seen from us before... Beam Attacks.

The attacks are 99% work in progress, and are not any specific attacks from DBZ, though you may notice the development of straight beams, controlable beams and beams that have another beam curl around it, similar to Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon.

The beams are made up of dynamic meshes, allowing for beams to be controled in different directions, and change depending on what is happening in game at any given time. This basically gives you an actual 3D shape for beams, adding for more realistic effects (if energy beams were real that is).

Head over to this forum thread on our forums to join in the discussion about these screenshots.

Just remember to get the other 22 screenshots of other various old material, as usual, we are still keeping some stuff behind the scenes, so go download the 4.34mb file by clicking **here** and enjoy the rest of the show, and feel free to leave comments on our forum.
