A place where you "Burn the Sun"! Here is some basic info you should know before hosting your own DeathMatch server!

  • Hosting a DeathMatch server without major modifications advises you to use a default version.
  • Prior doing so, PATCH the game with provided FL PATCH.exe, free up 2302 port for FLServer (UDP and TCP aka Port Forward) and join your or other servers you can access.
  • 6.66 is reserved for Draconus Majorum while 66.6 versions are reserved for DeathMatch servers! Reserve your own at freelancercommunity.net
  • Using Win10/Win7/Vista as a platform requires disabling IPv6 protocol from network communication (additional patch should solve this). To avoid struggles, after patching the game, copy the game folder outside Program Files (x86), install FLMM 1.31 beside it and point in it the new location of the game to be modified. Feeling lazy to do it - just Run as administrator all the *.exes and *.flmods.
  • Having troubles to run a server with FLHook, install vc10 redist (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555) / Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582) and at least .net framework 3.5 or just use it as a RAW.
  • IMPORTANT - Remove write protection from restart files upon mod activation in EXE\flhook_plugins\restart folder!
  • Check the FLHook.ini file in EXE folder for custom settings you want to change/adjust.
  • It's advised to check Freelancer.exe/FLServer.exe processes in Task Manager before deactivating mods to avoid restoring backups (killing shortcuts provided in PATCH folder).
  • Please refer to the DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\DM01\DM01.ini file for in-game customizations.
