DownFall is a Half-Life 2 single-player mod taking place in the White Forest surroundings. You 're once more putting on the HEV suit as Gordon Freeman. Your mission is to recover a newly developed technology by the resistance, known as the "citadel buster", before the Combine manage to destroy it.

Half-Life 2 - Episode 2.5

Half-Life 2 gameplay in its finest form. Thin on plot, but the visuals, gameplay, and level design is Valve worthy.

The AI feels more dangerous in these spaces, which are open and sometimes give the impression of choose-your-approach battles.

Highly recommended, I can't wait for more.

Though this mod isn't fully complete, its really another great mod experience with the Half-life feeling. Short, but sweet. I also love the new music that's been added in, get a very half-life vibe listening to them. Can't wait for the next chapters, really great mod. Keep up the awesome work! :D

A brief, fun mod. Excellent Valve-level quality.

This is the first mod where I really have the feeling it's another set of HL2 levels: the mapping, the gameplay, the pace and the difficulty are just right, same as for the original game. Awesome job! Would love to see more of this. And pay for it.

It's pretty good.
There's plenty of action and exploration (you even get to use the buggy from EP2). Lots of enemy variety in the form of combine soldiers, zombies and antlions (I recommend playing the mod on Hard, normal seemed way to easy).
Graphics can look gorgeous at times, putting those EP2 assets to good use. Whoever, I did run into some performance issues, with my FPS falling below the 60FPS line ocassionaly in big areas (this is with an i7 and a GTX 980Ti, mind you). It's also really short, took me around half an hour to finish. Story was also very lacking.
All in all, a very entertaining mod that could use some polish in certain areas.

(about 1st part)- 8/10
(if i rate only maps then 9/10) Great polished maps !But!
- No puzzles and no real 'intro' to astablished some 'cool entrance' good mood for the rest of adventure --- *' we have 'some intro-like' in form of background in menu, but thats just wrong* cheap way to do it *. At first you just drive into the 1st settlement with nothing special to do there, really. (all seems just 'to generic' i have hope for something more like, new vehicle and some puzzles **(i believe that 2 and 3rd part will change my 'that's so generic' feeling about this mod. (i hope) **(and im sure that in the 'whole form' it will be realy great mod. but first part is just 8/10 for me.
