Dodek's Improved Sound Evnironment (DISE)'s goal is to create an immersive and enjoyable experience of playing BF2 by enhancing its sound environment and testing it to its limits.
This mod is going to feature DES (Dynamic Echo System) and ESS (Effect Sound System) as well as its own improvements.
This will come as a mod at first and if it gets a lot of interest, I will consider making it an addon, so that everyone can merge it with other mods.

So what is the mod about?
It's about an immersive sound environment for Battlefield 2. It aims to test the engine to its limits. But that doesn't mean it's only going to change sounds. A short list of DISE features:
-Custom sounds (of course)
-Custom animations for most weapons
-Custom vehicle handling
-Small tweaks/fixes for well known yet unsolved bugs (for example wheels snapping back in a blink of an eye after turning, steering wheel and wheels rotation not synchronized)
-Custom weapon handling based, weapon values calculated by an Excel script that should make them balanced, but also realistic, kind of (click on picture to view the whole thing):

The demo version contains:
-Custom sounds (obviously)
-ESS (Effect Sound System)
-Modified weapons handling
-Heli and aircraft disabled features known from Spec Ops Warfare mod
-Custom air vehicles handling
-SABOT and HE rounds for tanks
-Modified HUD textures as well as new HUD colour scheme

I'm not sure if it is possible but could this be modified so it can be used in the original game so that you could enjoy the sounds as well as the filled multiplayer servers without being kicked from the server?

I have done distant sounds but sometimes they don't play properly, for example distant AT/Tank SABOT round, if it goes off too far from the player you can't hear them.

It is not only about sounds :) I got permission for BadSanta's awesome optics shaders so you will most likely see this: in the mod :) Now I only need 3D scopes lol
(this means it will have no multiplayer or some features will not work on MP)
Also I've got a pretty good idea about destructible building parts, for example like in the well known camping spot in BF3 Karkand (you can destroy a part of a building and actually go inside that building) but I can't do that myself or rather it would be pretty hard for me to make.

You can play CO-OP but alone. LAN will not work or some features will not be available.

Is it possible to have echoes from the AI guns being heard from, say, the other side of the map, so you actually hear where the combat is coming from rather than have to watch the map?
