made a lot more sense after i played it :D
Thank you! Glad you've enjoyed playing them :D
Game-play is too slow. This greatly reduces the replay value.
The first few mins of a person's first or so games are often slow, as they need to acclimatize themselves to the gameplay. Were you playing with AI or human players?
At first, with a human (G-arena contact), but that got boring early on, so I gave it a second chance solo...Wasn't too thrilled. What can enrich the experience for a rookie like me?
Short answer: Stick to playing on Beerfest, buy wards (from the Spaza Shop) and place them next to the Rune spawn areas (Runes spawn every 2 mins in one of two blue/red/green circles of power - look near the Hillbrow Tower) and then you'll have access to insane powerups that will enable you to unleash the pwn.
Long Answer: Interesting. The larger maps (District and Christmas) are geared towards a slightly slower, more strategic gameplay style, while the smaller maps (Beerfest in particular) when played with 10 people often turn into frenzied killfests. I would definately suggest sticking to Beerfest if you want more hectic gameplay.
The maps reward players with aggressive playstyles. Since teams aren't "paired" against each other as they are in Dota, you'll want to keep track of the opposition by using well placed wards - if you monitor the Rune spawning areas you'll have massive combat bonuses and can then actively seek out the other team and annihilate them. The two types of wards you'll be interested are either a "Car Guard" or a "Partridge in a Pear Tree" - purchase them from the Spaza Shop.
I'm assuming that in your first game you played with 2 humans and 8 computer players, and your second game with 9 computer players. The computer players aren't "smart" and don't use clever strategies, but simply kill ANC and score points. You may have noticed that the AI players all try to take down a tower together as a team. This isn't a very effective strategy - its a far better idea to pick, say, 2 heroes that have good anti-tower skills (North Korean or the Living Statue of Agriculture) and let them focus on taking down a tower and an ANC, then get the other 3 players to hunt the opposition, scoring gold and XP that way. Not only will everyone on your team level up a lot faster, but the gameplay will also be far more exciting than just cram-mobbing a tower. Always put bots on the "Insane" difficulty as well.
Hope that'll help? :)
Also bear in mind that the game only really "starts" when the first ANC member is killed. If no ANC member has been killed within the first 200 seconds then you need to take towers down faster. Buy ammo specifically for this purpose - something like Annihilators for taking down the tower, then Phosphorus Rounds for taking down the ANC.
hi i have a question is the map pack download the game and if its not then where can i download this?
Download the map pack then extract the map files into your Warcraft 3 maps folder.
Map Pack v1.11 is currently awaiting authorisation by ModDB, but you can grab it here in the meantime: Hiveworkshop.com
