Discovery mod is a full-scale expansion pack for Freelancer focused on continuing the story started in the vanilla campaign. The mod is used by some of the busiest multiplayer Freelancer servers and has multiplayer features including player owned (and built) bases, jumpdrives, cloaking devices and equipment manufacturing.

Description

Version 4.84 contains more changes than any previous Discovery version. Almost half a hundred original ship models were created for the mod by our community members. Many more faction systems received long-awaited updates, and 5 new systems were introduced. With numerous new weapons for fighters and capital ships, it became much easier to create versatile and balanced setup for any ship you like. More equipment types were introduced, including new scanners, thrusters, and countermeasure droppers. In addition to that, many profitable and dangerous trade routes were added, involving both new and original commodities. Top-level NPCs became more challenging than before. History of Discovery continues: while Kusari onslaught into Bretonia has been stopped, fierce fighting in Tau systems still continues. The Wild are building a Nomad gate in Omega, its destination yet unknown. Rheinland accuses Liberty of illegal experiments with Nomads in the Alaska system.

One major issue that I've noticed: Capital Ships are just not accessible...i.e. the Phoenix Shipyard-Vespucci System-Grid B-4: This Shipyard is surrounded by a ''dense'' asteroid field making it nigh impossible to get the Capital Ship provided there out-system. In other cases, while the shipyards themselves are not in dense cover, all entry and exit jumpholes are, almost ensuring the ship never leaves the system. I suggest, perhaps, access routes be made into said fields to allow capital ship extraction.

guys make sure u get the discoveryv4.85 mod that allows u to update once the game is started
it will shut down an ask u to update to discovery update3 click yes then it will automatically download the update then once that is done it will ask u to run the game click on yes also
u dont have to re-run the flmm again just click yes an ur on ur way to play open sp or have a full list of servers u can play on thru the multiplayer mode

I lost my ALL saves and i unpack the file of iscovery mod, but before that i install the FLMM 1.31 because there dont EXSIST FLMM MOD 1.3 and I dont know a ****!!! (I btw I dont see any cheanges whit that discovery mod) can enyone help me?!

Is it possable since the Bombers have been retooled especially when it comes to the weapon loadout to not make it so blinding when you fire off the main guns in a firefight ? It is so giving me a headache since i fly in cockpit mode and i find that i liked the bombers the way that they used to be however i do understand as to why they were changed and i am guessing it has to do with balancing. In any case the weapon flash on all bombers is way to bright. Love the mod though as i did vote for it. Sorry to be a critic. Also i noticed that very heavy fighter freighters like the Rhineland Mjoiner and others tend to get stuck alot either while docking with ship bases and some starbases as well as undocking and i have no idea of how to keep that from happening ?

I agree. it seems pointless to even buy and use any battleships because they either are unable to get out of a system let alone into one or even bog down in jumpgates and even wormholes and that's even using the hot dock procedure. It sadly is a nasty bug that needs to be adressed. Still,love the mod ! I have shown it to many of my friends already via LAN and they absolutely love how it starts in the Pennsylvania System from Planet Erie. We live in this area so it it very awesomely nostalgic.

In the storyline how there is some ships that doesn't say any of the characteristics but i want to know if is a problem of the activivation or not because now i dont know where are the ships and if the ship is good or bad;

instead of the name it appear "IDS?" and i dont know what to do.

This modification is not bad but the community is horrible. Censorship with really stupid and boring rules everywhere, admins are arrogant and when you want something from them, better commited suicide-they will ban you.

Before 3 years, there was usually 200 players at a time on the server, now it wont happend there are more than 100 players. Please continue with it, after some time, only admins will play their mod. ;)
