DIPRIP is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer total conversion. Gameplay is based on vehicle combat in various post-war environments. Vehicles use multiple weapon mounts which are activated by finding weapons scattered around the battle grounds. Planned game types are deathmatch, teamdeathmatch and capture the flag. There will also be a possibility to enable players to upgrade their vehicles' weapons and subsystems through the use of a 'money for damage' system. Action takes place in varied post-war sceneries. Key places in the post-war world are areas rich in uncontaminated water and fueal. Most of the terrain has been left in a mechanically unchanged state. Abandoned city centers, hipermarkets, refineries, country food storages, old military bases and other such places are the scenery of raging battles.

The thing that stood out for me with this mod was the unique idea which had never been done before. A lot of mods in the gaming world are just copies of another mod/game with a slight difference. Die In Pain, Rest In Peace (DIPRIP) how ever was completely different.

So with knowing this I then set out to download and play the mod to see what it was like and then review it on my show.

First Impression
My first thoughts about DIPRIP was that it was a type of gameplay that was aimed at being fun and that it doesn't matter if you win or loose. This for me was a good start since more games need to have this gameplay.

One thing I also noticed was the amount of people working as a team. This I thought was brilliant because I am quite a team player and love it when both sides have a good team playing team.

Game Play
The gameplay of DIPRIP is pure brilliance. It's fun and results in people working as a team which is a very good result for a game. The gameplay improves even more if you use voice communications as well although most games do. One part of the game play is the destruction. The explosion of the vehicles is just brilliant and also there are various objects in the game that you can drive through.

You have a nice range of weapons as well which includes you ramming other vehicles although if you don't have enough health then your kinda dead if you ram some one.

Graphics
DIPRIP uses the source engine which isn't a bad gaming engine. I would say not as good as the Unreal Engine 3 but still a good gaming engine. The way the DIPRIP devs have used the engine are very good as well. Like I mentioned earlier they have developed destructable objects and also the look of the game is really nice. Nothing hidious but a nice looking game which goes really well with the fun!

Conclusion
This truely is a really good mod. I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a fun, teamplay game with lots of destruction! There are various improvements that can be made to the mod although it is fairly new and so they will still be adding in new cool features to the game.
