DIPRIP Launch Trailer HD
Mar 11, 2008 Trailers 3 commentsThis is the D.I.P.R.I.P. Demo launch trailer in 720p.
D.I.P.R.I.P. is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer total conversion. Gameplay is based on vehicle combat in various post-war environments. Vehicles use multiple weapon mounts which are activated by finding weapons scattered around the battle grounds. Planned game types are deathmatch, teamdeathmatch and capture the flag. There will also be a possibility to enable players to upgrade their vehicles' weapons and subsystems through the use of a 'money for damage' system.
Action takes place in varied post-war sceneries. Key places in the post-war world are areas rich in uncontaminated water and fueal. Most of the terrain has been left in a mechanically unchanged state. Abandoned city centers, hipermarkets, refineries, country food storages, old military bases and other such places are the scenery of raging battles.

Today we have a few new screenshots showing our progress in adding teamplay modes to D.I.P.R.I.P..
We already have team deathmatch working nicely with different car skins for the teams. We can also confirm that we have successfuly ported to the Orange Box SDK and can take full advantage of analog joypad support and the new engine features.
For those who can't wait for the next release we have prepared a few desktop wallpapers.
The next step is adding Capture The Flag, Domination and Assault game modes. We are working on three new maps and experimenting with gameplay. The new maps are going to be more spacious and team oriented.

I really enjoy playing this mod, it just feels so different and has all the little touches that make it feel more complete than most mods right now.
My only gripes right now come with the handling with the cars which is understandably hard to achieve when you have to use the keyboard. Other than that I think its a fine mod that can only get better with more weapons, levels, and cars.
I have the same problem, the handling is too sharp with the keyboard.
Is there gamepad support?

Great fun, I'm having no steering lag, just make sure you play on a low-ping server.
Great mod, lots of fun - Just needs a little work on the steering imo.
Wow, talk about fun! I agree with Batuea, finally something different! I had so much fun playing it. The constant lag was very annoying, but hey its only a demo, I'm sure the final version will be so much better and smoother. I would love to see joystick support and different views, like a dashboard and a hood cam. Besides that, Its perfect!
10/10
Yeah I have to agree on the different view, although a little hard to implement *The view model and animations and all*. as for lag, I did not experience that much.
I'm downloading it right now, I really can't wait to play this.
I have got to say, this game is great. Finally a breath *more like a gasp* of fresh air. Its great to see a mod other than, point your gun at the other team, and click your mouse, bunny hoping, and every other HL2 Mod Cloche. Plus this mod brings up so many good memory's*although I am going to mention Twisted Metal, in no way am I comparing it to TM*, sitting in front of my TV playing Twisted Metal on my good old PS1, beating the crap out of brother with Shadow, and so many others. Now if I can setup my Game pad for this game, I would play till I drop dead *Yes I know about Emulators, like joy to key*.
thank you for this great game, it truly was worth waiting for.
PS: Please dont put a clown in the game, I have a hard enough time telling my self I wont hear Sweet Tooths laughing clown head missile/bomb *plus they creap the ever living F**K out of me.*
