DIPRIP Launch Trailer HD
Mar 11, 2008 Trailers 3 commentsThis is the D.I.P.R.I.P. Demo launch trailer in 720p.
D.I.P.R.I.P. is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer total conversion. Gameplay is based on vehicle combat in various post-war environments. Vehicles use multiple weapon mounts which are activated by finding weapons scattered around the battle grounds. Planned game types are deathmatch, teamdeathmatch and capture the flag. There will also be a possibility to enable players to upgrade their vehicles' weapons and subsystems through the use of a 'money for damage' system.
Action takes place in varied post-war sceneries. Key places in the post-war world are areas rich in uncontaminated water and fueal. Most of the terrain has been left in a mechanically unchanged state. Abandoned city centers, hipermarkets, refineries, country food storages, old military bases and other such places are the scenery of raging battles.

2008 has passed as a year full of success for D.I.P.R.I.P. Our first demo release in March has put us on the modding scene and gathered a lot of positive feedback followed by numerous press reviews and interviews. The innovation and quality delivered by D.I.P.R.I.P. has been recognized by Valve and we were able to Warm Up the modding scene once again in October by delivering D.I.P.R.I.P. Warm Up directly through Steam.
Now we are proud and excited to announce that we have been chosen as the Mod of The Year by Steamfriends.com
"What at first looked to be a simple take on the classic 'Twisted Metal' quickly gathered speed and became a lot more than a simple re-make. DIPRIP sees players driving huge metal beats around beautifully created landscapes, fending off fellow drivers with bombs, rockets and miniguns while carrying nuclear bombs into the enemy base to create just that little bit more destruction. Featuring its own achievements and packing completely destructable scenery and explosive action, DIPRIP is a hell of a lot of fun and more than deserves our Mod of the Year award..."
As 2008 has come to an end the Moddb.com's Mod of the year Awards nominations voting has now begun.
Remember to vote for D.I.P.R.I.P. and wish us good luck in the voting.

Nice mod but I can't find serverss with pings lower than 150-200
I'm really glad to hear about full analog support. That means I can just plug in my PS2 controller, and no more clunkiness for me (One stick for steering, one stick for camera. Perfect!). ;D
And teambased modes, sounds great as well, can't wait for it. ;D
You guys are fans of the Twisted Metal series, right? Because your mod reminds me so much about it, and I mean that in the best possible way, of course. Extremely satisfying gameplay (Besides the controller clunkiness so far, keyboards really aren't ideal for driving games), and a lot of personality (Not deranged psycho drivers yet, but they're working on it).
What I'd like to see included in a future release though, besides the things already mentioned, is perhaps a "Keep Away" kind of gamemode, where players compete to get keep hold of "It" (Marked on map, and shown on the carrier car, bright light, ray of light, or a flag, perhaps), where the one who holds it the longest, or a set time, wins. Or, alternatively, that you fight for it, and, when held, have to deliver it to checkpoints, to score points, in which case, the amount of points decides the winner (Could work for teams too, right? And, having the ability to launch "It", mortar like, to teammates, or leave it over instantly, by bumping them. Even better, and more frantic, if supporting multiple teams, 3-4).
And, also, as an option to put a little more pressure on the "It" holder, "It" could be a bomb, which detonates and kill the carrier (Leaving it to be picked up by other players), unless checked at checkpoints, at which additional time is added, or it's simply reset (This would effectively prevent camping, hiding, and similar unfun, and gamestopping behaviours).
Hey,
Thanks for the feedback! We are currently working on a team game mode where one team has to carry a bomb to the other team's base. The bomb has to be delivered a few times as one explosion is simply not enough :) So far the play tests are very promising. Its a really cool feeling when you have the bomb, there are three of your squad mates convoying you in the front and suddenly mortar shells start flying in the air, a few enemy cars attack your group and the only thing that you want to do is get past that hell and deliver the payload :)
hey im new to thic.. can you'll tell me.. which half life 2 version do i actually need to play this mod.. plz tell me in little details.. thanx.. :)
Hey Guys
I have Half Life 2: Deathmatch with Source 2007 .gcf files but not the actual Half Life 2.
Can i still play this?
Thanks in advance
If you can play any other mods then you will be able to play DIPRIP.
"we have successfuly ported to the Orange Box SDK"
Wait, doesn't this mean that you won't be able to run the game, unless you have a Orange Box game (As of yet, I for one, don't)? Besides that, the improvements planned for the next release sound very good. Analog controller support, is perfect, and, teammodes, well, always fun to team up, really. ;D
Orange Box is not required to run Orange Box mods. You will only have to download the Orange Box SDK Base which is free if you own a Source based game that allows playing mods (e.g. HL2, CS:S, DOD:S), so if you can play DIPRIP now you will also be able to play it in the future.
is there going to be a full version of D.I.P.R.I.P.
U should start makeing some more modes, like team death match, and maybe a idea that's just for diprip? 1 of a kind.
