D.I.P.R.I.P.Half-Life 2 mod | Released Mar 7, 2008D.I.P.R.I.P. is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer total conversion. Gameplay is based on vehicle combat in various post-war environments. Vehicles use multiple weapon mounts which are activated by finding weapons scattered around the battle grounds. Planned game types are deathmatch, teamdeathmatch and capture the flag. There will also be a possibility to enable players to upgrade their vehicles' weapons and subsystems through the use of a 'money for damage' system. Action takes place in varied post-war sceneries. Key places in the post-war world are areas rich in uncontaminated water and fueal. Most of the terrain has been left in a mechanically unchanged state. Abandoned city centers, hipermarkets, refineries, country food storages, old military bases and other such places are the scenery of raging battles.

The only improvement I can think of is more gibs for the vehicles, maybe split the chasis in half? The rest is great, massive amout of explosions and breakables. It gets to be insane.
Unfortunately we had to decrease the number of particles because of performance. Most of the destructible props had three times more parts, but that was too much...
cant you have the particles client side so better computers can keep all the eyecandy

Played for about an hour today. It took a little getting used to but once you get into the flow of things it's a lot of fun. Really like the car design as well. Currently a 9/10, looking forward to the next release.
I played this mod for about 15 or 20 minutes yesterday...

BUT
I really think it would be good if u got some racing maps in
like some fast violent death races with death traps and obsitcals
and u have probably heard it b4 but the stearing is a bit tricky
OMG just like the new movie 'death race' i cant wait to hear a voice just come out and say, 'gentlemen, start your wepons!'

we have improved steering in the build that is coming and are constantly working on improving it even more.
As it comes to racing, such a mode is not coming in this release, but if you look at Demolition and how the map is built it actually is a death race :) The attacking team has to "race" up a hill and inside the dam carrying a bomb, while the defending team tries to stop that. There are are some ramps on that map for "jumping" and the improved handling makes it easier now.
Plus we have added a new feature that allows you to flip your car back on its wheels by just pressing the direction you want to flip. It really makes the game more fun as you will probably very soon forget about the need to respawn.
