Devil behind the Canvas is a survival horror game with stealth game elements and "traumatized" gameplay. In the game you play as Amy, a traumatized girl whose mother was killed. Amy's father is a dark artist. Amy needs to travel between the worlds of her father's paintings in order to survive and find out the truth behind her mother's death.
The project features an atmospheric theme and unique art style, as well as a special "traumatized" gameplay. The biggest feature of the game is the sanity system. Sanity will play a huge part of your survival, and the unique level structure will contain multiple "parallel worlds" in every map of the game. Amy has to take pills to keep her sanity or she will constantly lose her mind and see things differently. Being attacked by monsters will also result in loss of sanity. When the sanity meter is down to a certain point, Amy will see things differently and enter a "parallel world" (hallucination). The parallel world has a harder difficulty setting and the environment is more dangerous. Amy has to find pills to cure herself in order to return to the real world. Each level will have more areas to explore in their parallel worlds. If players want to find secret areas or rewards, they can risk taking fewer pills to remain in the hallucination mode. We also have a lot of scary moments based on the switching between the parallel worlds. The project is currently looking for 3D character/environment artists, to create enough material for us to build the first a few levels. If you are interested in the project, please send an email to guesscui@msn.com

I am very impressed by the art direction of this mod, both stylistically, and technically. Video games are just as much an art as film, paint, and music; it is always nice to see someone take that small step from fun to art. Thank you.

We only added a new noise effect, and with motion blur turned on, things look slightly better.

Hard to learn on your own, a LOTof help available though, Many many video tutorials from people other than the company who made it, hopefully you will take it up, this very guy here could do with your help (the maker of this Mod) he is doing amazing but the more the merrier for aspiring modders.

Speaking of editing the engine, guesscui, are you going to change the movememnt speed, character animations, HUD, and button functions? I hope you do i want this to feel like a different game as immersive as possible :)!!
