Deus Ex: Reborn is a Unreal Tournament 2004 modification aimed at giving the classic Deus Ex technological tune-up. The goal is to utilize the capabilities of UE2 to provide the player with a higher resolution Deus Ex experience while keeping the gameplay intact. Hopefully this will result in a visually and physically more immersive game that DX fans can enjoy.

*Alpha has been removed. A new version is in the works.*

I have packaged the mod so that you may try it out, it's nothing spectacular. I honestly thought I would be farther along since 2 weeks ago, but even though an assload of code was written, there was very little visible effect. In any case, hopefully this will be at least proof that work is being done :)

For the mod to work you must copy the DX textures to the mod's textures folder.
"e" is your frob key, "i" loads the inventory screen.
Also if you would like to try out another map type "open decotest" in the console without the quotes.

This makes me wanna model in 3D and import the objects into the Unreal Engine... luckily, both are within my grasp! XD

Good lookin' mod though! I hope that it pans out, and doesn't end up in the grave yard of mods that never made it past the "pre-production" stages!

youre done now you can play good old buggy deus ex at a normal speed lol btw i demand that this mod is gonna be finished.:D

eidos probably never had an engine considering theyre not game developers, theyre game producers. also deus ex ran off of unreal engine 1 (i think)

What I see so far is really impressive. Here's hoping it gets finished and is as addictive as the original.

Note: How do the audio and frame rate sync up so far? I realize it's an unusual thing to ask, but my computer runs too fast for DX since I upgraded it, and the dialogue cuts off because the game runs so fast. Dunno if it's a problem UTk4 would give me too or if it's only the Eidos Engine (it's prolly the Eidos engine, they make great games, but so damn buggy all the time X_x )

couldnt you convert all the weapons, anims, and textures from Deus Ex instead of making new ones?
