DXR Training Mission

Deus Ex: Reborn is a Unreal Tournament 2004 modification aimed at giving the classic Deus Ex technological tune-up. The goal is to utilize the capabilities of UE2 to provide the player with a higher resolution Deus Ex experience while keeping the gameplay intact. Hopefully this will result in a visually and physically more immersive game that DX fans can enjoy.

*Alpha has been removed. A new version is in the works.*
I have packaged the mod so that you may try it out, it's nothing spectacular. I honestly thought I would be farther along since 2 weeks ago, but even though an assload of code was written, there was very little visible effect. In any case, hopefully this will be at least proof that work is being done :)
For the mod to work you must copy the DX textures to the mod's textures folder.
"e" is your frob key, "i" loads the inventory screen.
Also if you would like to try out another map type "open decotest" in the console without the quotes.

I'm still optimistic about the January deadline
sounds like an interesting mod, good luck with the work.
Liar! you said you'd release by 2008 :P Don't give me that DEAD shit boyo! Let us know if anything bad happens in the event you can't make the deadlines alright :D.
temporarily
Ah... is it dead?
I think you can already convert UMX to OGG using Mod Tracker, it doesn't do anything though :D. DXR has plans to work on the music judging by a thread on their forums. But I'm betting that comes once the project is closer to finnishing.
Just curious as I haven't really seen much in the way of documentation on the subject, but are any of the projects moving towards any sort of overhaul on the sound design for the game?
I've read something how the .umx music is more less similar to MIDI, and with UT2003? they switched over to OGG encoding. Anyways, I’m probably misinformed; but if it's possible to upgrade the audio then it seems like it would be worth it. After all, who doesn't love good sound? (That and the sound effects in the game weren't of the highest order; kinda like watching a Sergio Leone western and knowing it's all post sync stuff.)
A+ to everyone for going above and beyond the call of duty for making an old game new again.
I'm not sure yet how it's going integrate with NV/HDTP. That's something we'll get hammered out near the end. But yes, you will need both UT2004 and Deus Ex to get this mod running.
This project looks KICK ASS! I can't wait for it to finish, please, please do NOT let it die like my UT04 mod did.
NV has only been working on for 2 months. HDTP has been in work for 4 years which I can justify as it was bloody hard texturing every last thing. DX:R is coming along quite well, I've used the Alpha (which you can already download) and it does look okay, Snipa has told me the latest build is great though we've had a few problems with NV that we're still working out.
Work is going well. This is not DNF because we've stuck with the same process the last 4 years and we've haven't changed yet.
The NV site hasn't been updated because Snipa is still working out the latest version I made up. If you'd like I can change the site right now.. Our profiles are often updated so I have no idea why you are complaining. I check them everyday.
NV has been releasing screenshots, It has been over a month though because we are planning to re-release our mod in level segments. This way the impact will be greater, look out for that in the coming months. The website will be updated soon.
