Deus Ex: Reborn is a Unreal Tournament 2004 modification aimed at giving the classic Deus Ex technological tune-up. The goal is to utilize the capabilities of UE2 to provide the player with a higher resolution Deus Ex experience while keeping the gameplay intact. Hopefully this will result in a visually and physically more immersive game that DX fans can enjoy.

Thanks to blueneptune's work on developing a better shadow system for UT2004, DX fans can now enjoy a much more immersive look and feel. The shadows are crisp, and fully dynamic.

Alright check out the new screen shot of the notes/goals screen. There a few things missing, not sure if it's worth the effort to implement them. Namely the ability to edit the notes, thats gonna be a toughy.

Althought not shown in any of the screenshots, I also added functionality to the object belt. So you can drag and drop weapons onto it and then pull up those weapons with the number keys, just like in DX.

With this mod and Black Mesa for HL2, two of the best PC games of modern times are going to get a face-lift. I personally can't wait - but I guess I'll just have to....

Meh, Deus Ex looks alright. It doesn't make my eyes bleed and it stimulates my mind in such a way that I enjoy playing over and over.

I mainly look forward to the dynamic shadows. That will make stealth that much cooler.

Right now our goal is to convert Deus Ex (the first one) to the UT2004 build of the engine as is. At a later date we plan to upgrade the textures/models to higher standards.
