"Deus Ex: Man in Black" follows the story of Agent Q, Majestic-12's first nano-augmented MIB agent. Set one month after the death of Bob Page, "Man in Black" will allow players to fight alongside the conspirators of Majestic-12 as they wage a hidden war against the Illuminati. However, in a world of intrigue and conspiracy, where allies become sudden enemies and friends carry out their own secret agendas, nothing is what it seems...
As Agent Q, players will be able to upgrade their abilities through nano-augmentation and upgrade canisters. For those of you who are wondering what the status might be on Man in Black, I am here to post an update:Interest and work in the project has remained steady over the year, but unfortunately several "real world" crises have devoured almost all of my creative energy. I am still 100% committed to the storyline/design concept of MIB and will very happily continue work on the project. We now face a question, however- is the remaining Deus Ex fanbase enough to support putting significant time and effort into this mod? Do we continue with MIB using the original engine or pray for an SDK release with Deus Ex 3?

This is a sample of the Illuminati Commando voice. These soldiers are equipped with stealth armor (their voice is subsequently filtered electronically...
This is a sample of the katana weapon sound you will hear in-game
This is a preview of the phosphorus grenade sound file.

so are we going to see a few familar charcters in this mod?
Yes, several characters from the original game will make appearances. Which ones? Well....that's classified. ;-)
Absolutely. Our release schedule will involve a public beta demo (quite possibly the first mission of the mod) after an internal alpha testing. As of now, our mapping stands somewhere in the neighborhood of 40% complete. Character skinning is closer to 75%. After these are completed, it's on to coding/weapon finalization. Then...voice acting and music, which could take a while (but hopefully we'll have plenty of volunteers when the time comes).
But I've spent more than a year of my life working on this thing- there's no way I'm going to abandon it now! ;-)
this had better get released, cos it is one of the best mods here imo,
so don't you dare abandon this halfway through, or i might kill you ;D
are you thinking of releasing a little beta test, like the first level or something for us to try and give feedback?
We have considered adding 2-3 augmentations, including one called Reflex (would basically function like bullet time). These options are still on the table, though, as our lead coder has all but disappeared recently. We are definitely in the market for an experienced coder.
i mean what are the augmentations and some more pics and some more about the storyline
Just spoke to CreativeEmbassy, our web designer. He's just started a new job (as a professional web designer, of all things) and moved into a new house in the same week, so he's been very swamped. However, regarding the website, he says (and I quote), "There's no way in hell I'm dropping it."
So I guess we're still at the "stay tuned" phase. Let me just say that once it's released, it will be well worth the wait!

hey, just wanted to know how the new website is coming along :) thanks
Not sure what you mean, harley. Headquarters pics? Biomods?
Thanks daedulas! Yeah, our website is going through an extreme overhaul as we speak. We're keeping the same logo, but everything else is changing (including an upcoming transition to Flash). I've seen CreativeEmbassy (our webmaster)'s draft version and it's going to be stellar!
Stay tuned... ;-)
