In the year 2005, a total conversion mod called Ashes of Apocalypse has come into the spotlight. It was a very promising sci-fi mod, which promised a world as big as Vvardenfell, many factions to choose from, realism features such as radiation and hunger and multiple endings for the main storyline. However, the mod was scrapped after the second release and after multiple engine changes, the team who worked on this mod are now unreachable. I tried to contact both team leaders but none of them replied.

History: In 2008, I found this mod when it was already abandoned. I was very intruiged with the uniqueness of this mod and after playing the demo release, I was excited for more. As I realised that it was abandoned with no hope of any resurrection, I immediately grabbed the CS and started changing things. At first, I was just moving around objects and fixing placement bugs but before I knew it, I started expansion of the game world and writing a main storyline which surrounded the surviving faction the Redchurch Temple. The expansion and the main storyline was the first full release and came out in 2010.

The second release, UBA's Paradise, added a second main storyline which focuses on the Red Year (the year when Morrowind was destroyed when the Ministry of Truth crashed into Vivec) and a sage trying to undo it with disastrous consequences. Also, this was the first release to bring side quests to the different settlements, old and new, and the police faction (United Barrier Alliance) has their own storyline written for it. The second release came out in 2012.

I admit, this release is much smaller than the previous two releases in terms of content. However, I have been working all year on the Faren Mountains so I don't think there's a need to wait any longer for the third release (am I right?). Here are the planned features of the third release:

-Some new Zero-One ruins. Will be completed in the Icecape release.
-An expanded forest in the southeast. Will be completed in the Sandy Plains release.
-The village of New Kogotel, as well as TR's Indoril stuff. There should be a few quests in this settlement.
-A completely redone Ice Domain and a brand new Oregon border region.

New Kogotel, Bronze Pass and the Zero-One Ruins

I will strive to release my work at least once every year (though I am hoping that it will be more frequent than that!). The planned release for New Kogotel will be on 12/12/2013, with Icecape hopefully a few months after.

There has been slow but steady progress on the cold area of the mainland. That isn't the only news though...

After a long break, I decided to yet again come back to this mod. Here are my future plans for completing the California state.

Unfortunately, the UBA's Paradise is truly the last release of Desert Region 2.

This is not dead. I'm just considering to stop updating a little while.
I don't want to post rough screenies any more.

And yes, the time jump is extreme.

What makes this mature only?

Mainly it is the violence around the Wasteland and the nudity in some of the bars.

Guys, I'm going on holiday tomorrow so the ETA on the next map release has been moved.
I will come back to this mod in January, meanwhile enjoy UBA's Paradise and I will update this page next year. :)

I realise you're ambitious, Envy, but I've just started playing UBA's Paradise and you have started on a new map?
Can't you come back in January to finish the map off? I want breathing room :(

I just got inspired by some mods and decided to do it. I really want to play the final result. So much potential which was unrealised and I am trying my best to get the mod up to the scale which was originally planned. I know it's ambitious but I am sure I will make it happen.

Finally, more frequent releases! Jeez, we were waiting so long for UBA's Paradise, it's unbelievable!
So, ETA on the next map release?

I am aiming to get the Red Savannah portion done in 2-3 months. I have a lot of free time during the holidays so I can get a lot done :)
