Desert Conflict (DC) Is looking to revive the game play of Desert Combat. Some of the mechanics of BF2 aid in helping us bring a few more things to the battlefield to play with.

1st: We've released the Very First Version of a Workable CTF to the community. DCON CTF.2 is on the heels of being released.

2nd: This release will bring in DCON .1 The true begninings of DCON and its recreations of classic BF42 Maps and DC maps. Also this will begin the phase where we are adding our custom content and physics package.

3rd: DCON will evolve and grow and create its own niches. We will also be following up on map updates and vehicles and other add-ons

Desert Conflict is not being developed by any of the original DC staff or testers. We are all hardcore DC fans who loved DC and miss its gameplay mechanics.

DCon 2D Image Contest

Entries accepted from now until December 04, 2006. Voting will take place for one week following the close the entry phase.

Rules:

All images must be in the proper format. Any image that is not in the proper format will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS.

PNG format is to be used. Always use the highest quality setting (don't compress it). (Yes PNG is a compressed format however, compress it as little as possible. Using PNG will allow it to both retain its full quality and still be viewable on the forums).

Keep the images clean. No profanity or adult content. Keep it appropriate.

1 entry per person, per category. (You may enter 1 image for Icons, 1 image for community logo, and 1 image for installer logo, however, each image should be its own file).

You may NOT change your entry.

No late entries are permitted.

Submit your own work. No copy written images. Be original.

The Desert Conflict team will retain use rights of the chosen images. These images are to be used in future DCon releases. The contest winners will have their forum names included in the credits under the "DCon 2D Image Contest Winners" section.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THE RULES WILL DISQUALIFY YOUR ENTRY.

How to submit: There are 3 submissions threads in the General DC Chat section. Simply make a post with your image in it. Post in the proper thread. Do not post an icon image in the installer image thread. Improper posts will be ignored, if you accidentally post in the wrong place, please contact a moderator. DO NOT SPAM THESE THREADS. Post ONLY image submissions. Do not comment, discus or do anything but submit an image in that thread. These threads are to be used solely for image submissions. Posts that are not image submissions will be deleted as they are found. You will need to host you image somehow. You can use whatever means you wish, however, it must be publicly accessible so that it can be seen in your post. Make sure to keep a backup copy on your machine somewhere. Do not rely on just the hosting company to keep your image, we can't use your image is it gets lost.

If your image is chosen and you do not submit a scaled version of your image, your image will be scaled down. (Scaling will done in GIMP 2.2.14 using Cubic Interpolation (highest quality available in GIMP)). If you wish to do the scaling yourself, you may submit a 50x50 and a 32x32 pixel version as well. However, the 64x64 image is not optional. The icons will be used for the desktop shortcut, in-game server browser icon, and for installer icons.

im a member of the us air force... i have a small request for you dice... before i joined the military i was a volunteer fire fighter.. .and i was hopeing that maybe someone could create a fire fighter game... in terms as there are three factions instead of two.. one would be the arsons that cause the fire.. the fire fighters as the second... and the police as the third.... create vehicles and such... its a suggestion but i would love to see it happen.... not really the military units should be in the game ..... more like a civilian type that brings in the realistic view of what really happens out in the real world....thanks.
