Desert Combat is an award winning FPS mod for Battlefield 1942, created by Frank Delise, Brian Holinka and Tim Brophy. DC is set in Iraq during the first Gulf War. It acquired popularity since the 2003 invasion of Iraq by Coalition forces.

After a long and windy development path, the final release of the widely-popular Battlefield 1942 mod, Desert Combat, has been released. Fans everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief and get ready to download from any of the links provided here. Desert Combat developers also showed their gratitude for the people who helped to make the final release possible in this thread. Finally, a change log showing the new additions and alterations can be read here or here.

Hello... i hope this isn't dead. i can't seem to get this to work... i downloaded the 0.7 version with Desura then downloaded and installed the 0.7 to final version update. I can get to the menu and start the game but it crashes as the loading screen starts. :/ i really want to play this mod, so if any one can help that would be awesome :D

The mod is now dead, but maybe you can try opening the mod/game as an admin on your PC. Right-click the icon and select open as admin or something.
I try to join a server and it says I have the wrong version. I have all bf1942 patches and regular bf1942 works. It's only DC.
Ok I got the right version now, but it closes the game when I try to join now...
You need desert combat 0.7 for it to work. your welcome :D

This may fix it for you though caution, this changes the registry of your copy of windows.
