I love that idea about the blurs. it seems to handicap the player slightly to not be able to see the full screen during gameplay.

Well, I don't want to be a realism-fanatic, but that's exactly the price you pay for seeing in the dark. You have a limited FOV, just like when you use binoculars.

One small question:
Does this REALLY work or is it just tinting your screen red? I mean, if you have a barely lit room, you should be able to perfectly see (except for the FOV, grain,...).

@TheSniperGan, You're right we added limited range light close to the player at a wide angle, then on top of that is shaders that add grain, red tint and bluring at the edges.

@VerbNoun, it a huge advantage in dark areas. Turn it off in brighter areas.
