Decadence is a story-driven multiplayer modification based on Valve Software's Source Engine that combines the personal relationship to characters and surroundings of single-player games with an adrenaline filled multiplayer experience. Decadence pits two teams against each other in a fight over territorial control. Each map is designed in stages to offer a more compact and action filled gameplay that puts focus on teamwork and strategy. Decadence is multiplayer with personality, where you play as one of four different characters. The character you pick is specifically for you and will give you certain weapons and other advantages, and you need to use every single one of them together in combination with your teammate to succeed. The environment will also be key to survival, providing cover from enemy fire as you advance towards their flag. Staying close to your teammate is vital in Decadence. They are able to help you in many ways, not only as an extra hand in combat, but they can...

Last week representatives from Planet Half-Life, a gaming website which has served the Half-Life community for almost ten years, took a couple of rounds in Decadence, and we're thrilled that the experience seemed enjoyable.

Quote:The bottom line is that Decadence isn’t some other “realism” mod, futuristic sci-fi game, or some generic mod that’s little more than Half-Life 2 with new weapon models, it’s a completely new product, and one of staggering quality at that.

We're proud of what we've made, and it's incredibly rewarding knowing that people both look forward to and enjoy playing Decadence. This is the end of the beginning and we just want to thank everyone who has come aboard so far. We look forward getting beat up by you guys in-game next weekend!

Go read the whole article at Planet Half-Life

A corner stone in Decadence since its early days has always been usability and its low learning curve, something we explained in the earlier Introduction video. To further educate the masses on what Decadence really is and how you play it, we give you the Decadence manual. It's meant to be a quick guide for the new player, and is a collection of handy information you need to know before starting up your first game of Decadence. You will be able to get it here!

And oh, as a small side note. Something tells me that if you have an account on FilePlanet, you will be able to get your hands on Decadence a day earlier. So be sure to check out their site on the 27:th!

This wouldn't be a news post without a bunch of new screenshots! So be sure to check out our media section on our profile for more eye candy!

*sigh* FilePlanet Exclusive :(

Looking forward to this, looks fantastic and should be a refreshing change of pace/gameplay, but... the FP Exclusive route? Big shame.

It wasnt an offer we took easily, let me say that. Why do you think we have been keeping a lid on it for so long? The deal was done way back :)

Fileplanet may not be very popular with some people, but it gives good exposure. Best of luck with the release, I'm looking forward to it!

Looking forward to download it from torrent :> No hard feelings guys, you seem to be doing great job, and I completely understand why you chose Fileplanet, but for a European-File-Planet-Non-Subscriber it's a pain in the ass. But if my memory serves me right, it was a similar deal with the first Insurgency beta, which I actually did DL from FP in minutes of it's release :)

We will supply loads of download locations on the 28:th so if you don't have a FilePlanet account (or just don't want to use FP) you don't have to.

FP just gets it a day early.

I've been expecting a 28th release this whole time anyway. Still wish they released it this week, since I've got so much free time.

Any Valve game! Valve changed it so you can run Orange Box mods without owning an Orange Box game a while back.

Decadence is so far a ep1-mod. We will move over to Orange Box eventually (after the current source sdk beta has been finalized and code has been migrated).
