So we are back with some more podcasting Left 4 Deadness. This week we are breaking into a new style of doing Maps, we're doing them video style. We found that doing reviews as purley audio was not really any good at truly justifying the map without playing it. So we decided that it was time that we moved into making this something for you to watch whilst eating your breakfast. Another good reason for this is that some people listen to the podcast just for the map and they usually don't listen to the whole podcast because they cannot be bothered to wait for it.
Once again some things go bad with audio, there was some problems with North Surrey which was sent in my Korean Thug, there is some very strange but with Audacity that we cannot seem to fix and get the audio back for that. And we would also like to appologise to Airon who provided us with some help cleaning up the audio and went it came to actually attempting to sort it out we ran out of time to ask questions before being late with podcast releases. I will be sending a bunch of questions to him when i get a chance about sorting out the audio properly.

I haven't crashed once. And while the install instructions weren't very clear (and they were missing in the file uploaded here), the campaign is still a lot of fun.
It's a BETA. You knew it was when you downloaded it. A beta is supposed to have issues. These guys were nice enough to upload the file to a massive user-base that have been waiting patiently because they're confident we'll be happy with the final product.
It was a beta, a public test, and a first impression. I'm not sure whether you know it or not but players, or testers as you put it, are submitting bug reports... in the form of anger. That's pretty bad in my book. It shouldn't have taken him/his team under his name/whomever to reach this milestone of 'shit' after 4+ years. If this mod wasn't so haughty & full of hype while taking advantage of a fantastic film's fanbase, there wouldn't be as much 'lol flop' going around but instead it's been described as a non-event and possibly a gyp from the people who trusted him when he said it was awesome. The designer bit off more than he can chew and eventually ended up vomiting all over his fans.
Couldn't agree more.
They shouldn't have released a public beta
And why not? It was their choice to allow us to experience 4 out of 5 maps, even when they aren't working 100%. They could've just let us play the 1st level and left it at that, and none of you would be whining.
They gave us their word that they would like to have something available around Halloween and they stuck to it. Do you all think because it's crashing/buggy/incomplete now means that it always will be? Of course not. The irrationality is mind boggling.
The real point is, this mod was heavily hyped and one of the most anticipated l4d mods in development and it came out being garbage. There are soooo many other mods made in less time, with nearly no publicity, and came out in a much better state than DBD in their first release. Also, The devs didn't get hundreds of dollars in donations out of them.
The only irrationality I can see is why they decided to release such an obviously unfinished and broken mod instead of just admitting that their release date was unrealistic and pushing it back. Maybe they felt like they owed something to the community for buying them a brand new computer, but couldn't they at least take a step back and realized that this isn't the best way to repay such generosity?
Yep. I'm going to call my upcoming L4D2 campaign Resident Evil even though it has nothing to do with it just to take advantage of the fanbase and make fucking bank in donations.

Bad.
Damn, I wanted this so bad. Got it and within minutes the game crashed on me. Reading other messages I see that I am not the only one experiencing these problems. I also get these crashes on my laptop and when playing on Windows XP 32bit, Windows Vista 32bit and Windows 7 64bit.
Also I can assure you this is not something to do with my specifacations of my computer. I could see this happening with my laptop but my computer is powerful enough to run things like Crysis and ArmaII on full, let alone Left 4 Dead.
Nice of you guys to invest into a flop. You all get a brand new car!
