Dead Before Dawn features Crossroads Mall as a replica of the mall in the movie, Dawn of the Dead. Originally created for the HL2 Mod, No More Room in Hell but has since been undergoing major changes to be ported to Valve's Left 4 Dead.

So we are back with some more podcasting Left 4 Deadness. This week we are breaking into a new style of doing Maps, we're doing them video style. We found that doing reviews as purley audio was not really any good at truly justifying the map without playing it. So we decided that it was time that we moved into making this something for you to watch whilst eating your breakfast. Another good reason for this is that some people listen to the podcast just for the map and they usually don't listen to the whole podcast because they cannot be bothered to wait for it.
Once again some things go bad with audio, there was some problems with North Surrey which was sent in my Korean Thug, there is some very strange but with Audacity that we cannot seem to fix and get the audio back for that. And we would also like to appologise to Airon who provided us with some help cleaning up the audio and went it came to actually attempting to sort it out we ran out of time to ask questions before being late with podcast releases. I will be sending a bunch of questions to him when i get a chance about sorting out the audio properly.

Let's recap.
Level 4 is having some major issues, multiple maps have glitchy spawns, and the downloadable file isn't in .vpk format, occasionally causing users to run a command in the console to fix it before playing (so I hear, though I've never had to).
These are the biggest broken issues this campaign is having. Whoop de freakin' do.
80% of the campaign is playable, and it's fun to be surprised by all the things I recognize from the movie.
Not to mention there's a real threat of instant death until you get to know the map, unlike every other campaign, which means it's even more fun to bring along a newbie and entice him to walk through the mall doors.
I suppose you are all master mod makers, and can therefore justify an irrational critic of a unfinished mod as opposed to saying, "Well, it could certainly use some polish, but it IS a beta version and there are a lot of unique, well made areas which shows off a lot of hard work. I'm looking forward to the finished product."
I didn't know this alpha was a beta. That makes it even more funny.

Why are all the positive comments here getting buried?
Whoa I only just noticed that people donated to this mod. Well that must suck after seeing this beta not work at all. I don't see why the developers didn't give this beta to some of those who donated as testers and get them to note down bugs. According to the file above the only bug seems to be something to do with sounds...
It looks to me like he just released this to shut everyone up complaining about not having a beta, but it is only a few maps how can maps be this buggy? I could understand a mod in this situation but not a map pack for left 4 dead.
Hopefully these problems can be fixed without having to force people to download another 1.13gb file for the recycle bin.
Well the way I see it there is two ways to release a mod, one way is like yours where you show everyone somethings but release it once your completely finished. But the way this mod is released is they give everyone something and work there way up to when it's released. No matter way, the mod will attract people to want it. :P
Why can't anyone reply to me on this site without bringing my mod into it. This is about this mod as we are on its mod page if you did not notice. Basically I see now that releasing it early as a beta is only good providing you have tested it a little before hand and to not release so much if it doesn't work.
This mod looks completely untested. And for those saying it has been released her so people can test must be wrong, it is 1.3gb, that is not a small beta, but a huge part of the mod that clearly doesn't work properly.
