Dawn of Victory brings to life the epic Scinfaxi Wars in Sins of Solar Empire. In 1943 the human race became the first planet to forestall the Scinfaxi in their ever expanding empire. Now in 2289 the human race has abandoned Earth but forged new empires in the stars and will now wage a final war against the Scinfaxi.

With the release of the Sins of a Solar Empire mod tools, we are proud to present our first fully working in game units. You may recognize these as one of the first fighters we ever announced, but now with a redesigned texture, and sporting some very cool lights and trails. Included is some concept art of the mainstay of the German Fleet, the Medium Cruiser.

indeed looking cool... but i don't like it so much wheather there are planes which.. well look like planes... That's to Earth like in my opinion and don't fit for space combat.

>.< they can be modelled on planes, since plans are aerodynamic, not that there much in space.. alot of shows/games/etc choose to modem them on planes, it creates a familiarity.

However I do know what you saying, they are kind of a replica, not much modifying [=

Please look at all of our modelled fighters and tell me again if they are replicas of anything you've seen before.

Existing fighters were used as an inspiration for some of the designs in Dawn of Victory, but none of them are exact carbon copies. Really, I don’t know why everyone cares about the looks of the fighters, I’d think the fact it’s World War 2 in space with aliens would lend a degree of leniency to the aeronautics of the mod.

The idea behind the fighters is that they are able to both manuever in space, and in the atmosphere of various planets. Thus explaining their plane like appearance.
