DAWN OF THE DEAD - Main Video ( 1 )
Dec 11, 2007 Trailers 0 commentsThis video is the first main/long video that I've made for my DAWN OF THE DEAD. The video contains footage of just some of the work that i've achieved...
This is a T.C for MAX PAYNE 1 that I'm working on that's based on the 1978 Zombie Horror classic DAWN OF THE DEAD ( & not the 2004 remake ). I'm trying to stick to the movie as closely as the MP1 engine will allow me & I'm also using a DIRECTORS CUT version of the movie for refferance. This T.C has the same story, weapons, characters, music & green skinned zombies as the original movie, & just like the movie you have to shoot the zombies in the head to kill them. Also any weapons that became avalible to characters in the movie will also become avalible to them in this T.C & at the same time & places in the plot.

This is the second teaser video that I've just recently made for my DAWN OF THE DEAD mod, but unlike the first video this one does contain some in game...
This video's been on the web for some time now, but I've decided to post it up on ModDB also, just to have all my video's in one place. This teaser video...
This is a video of the rolling script that I wrote for my mod, it appears just before you start the first level & it gives you a bit of background...

Romero should see this and conrgadulate you to be honest.... although we havent seen the final product it looks as though its gonna rock, and be just like the movie. I know this one isnt done yet but if it was and was extremely popular, would you ever conisder doing a DOTD one with the Source engine? There would be so many less limits and more interactive. The environments and sounds would also be more immersing... You could create a bigger masterpiece than this if you used source :O, but Im not dissing on the Max Payne engine or the mod, was just wondering. As usual looking good and my best wishes to you!
Thanks for your kind comments,
I was thinking of moving over to the Source engine for my next project
( thats if I can be bothered to learn a new engine ). However, I might just move over to the Max Payne 2 engine for my next project as I will be more familliar with it as its very simillar to the Max Payne 1 engine but it's got much more advanced features.
My next mod might not be a Zombie mod however, as I might give the Zombies a rest for a bit. But I did post a plog a little while ago outlining my ideas for my next project.
You can see the blog a this link. It's the second artical down:

Give me your feedback on my ideas.
I must say however, I do think that the Max Payne 1 engine is much more powerfull than people relise as its closer to the Half Life 2 engine than it is Half Life 1 as Max Payne 1 was released after Half Life 1 remember & it's engine is far more advanced. In fact Max Payne 1 was the first game to use Slow motion play so it revolutionised the gaming industry. So I think you'll be surprised when this mod is finally finished, as too how much I have achieved with the engine.
All the best..........;-)
No problem, and I definitely understand you! I'm working on a tribute to one of my favourite comic books at the moment, and I want it to be more of a 'glimpse into the universe' of the comic, then a game. So to speak. Keeep on truckin' man!
Thanks for the friend invite man, & your project sounds interesting. What is the comic book you talk of ?
A really great Zombie one called 'The Walking Dead'. It's more about the humans themselves and what they go through after the outbreak, it's pretty amazing :) Hopefully I'll be able to get round to really getting started on it.
Sound like a pretty Kool comic, i'll have to keep an eye out for it ( Zombie, eye out, get it...lol ).
Haha :) When I get round to working on this mod, Be wary. I may have to badger you with a few questions every now and again. The Max Payne 1 + 2 editors etc are pretty similar aren't they?
So your be working with one of the Max Payne engines ( MaxEd 1 or 2 ), to do your mod. Its nice to see that theres still some people out there that are thinking about modding using one of the Max Payne engines as they are 2 of the most versitile & user friendly engines going, but sadly they are often overlooked by modders.
Feel free to ask any questions you like when you start your mod dude, as i'm always glad to help.
I take it from the above that you will be using the Max Payne 2 engine
( MaxEd 2 ), to make your mod, so you might be intertested to know that I uploaded 2 user made tutorials packs onto the Levels 4 You web site, 1 for the Max Payne 1 engine & the other for the Max Payne 2 engine, but as you say a lot of the stuff in the Max Payne 1 engine tutorial pack is also relivent to the Max Payne 2 engine as they are very simular in a lot of area's, although the Max Payne 2 engine does contain some much more advance features such as Rag Dolls & more advance lighting, to name but 2.
Both packs contain most all of the user made tutorials that were ever posted up onto the web, even from the sites that are no longer avalible, but that I had previously downloaded.
I learnt most of what I know from these tutorials, plus a little help from other Max Payne modders.
You can find both packs at the following 2 web addresses along with other usefull tools ( most of which I uploaded myself ), that you can download that will also help you with your modding:
Max Payne 1 Tools & Tutorials: Maxpayne.levels4you.com
Max Payne 2 Tools & Tutorials: Maxpayne2.levels4you.com
Hope that this helps you out man,
Keep on trucking.
Wow, that's too helpful of you man! Glad to see that moddb encourages newcomers as much as this :] I'm gonna go sift through the links now, cheers again! Can't thank you enough, hopefully I'll be able to get this on the go properly in the near future! Lookin' forward to updates on this by the way, whenever they may next be ^^
It's a pleasure to help you out man.
