The DarthMod series of mods continues to improve the AI and gameplay of Total War games.
As always, the mod’s main scope is to destroy the “weak” arcade factors and replace them with realistic features.
Witness now Total War: Shogun 2 as you have ever wanted.

It is compatible with any DLC and campaign (Sengoku Period, Rise of the Samurai, Fall of the Samurai).

Generally it improves every crucial gameplay factor while it stays close to the feel of the original game.

It does not affect your game installation as you can enable and disable it via a special launcher application.
Furthermore you can use additional mods and options with a few clicks.

In DarthMod: Shogun II you will enjoy a redesigned melee system
which makes battles look like real, "really real"!

images of DMS 3.2
When 2 armies clash, you will notice violent pushes, formation penetrations, heroic 1vs1 melees,
as it would look in a real battle of the era.
images of DMS 3.2
Arrows spread realistically and are powerful according to the skill of the bowmen,
but still no match against the matchlocks.

Sieges are really challenging because the new morale, melee and projectile system
create a chaotic and difficult to handle environment.

Even the naval battles are much improved and are a joy to watch,
fun to play and, most importantly, difficult to master!
The new smoke effects of DarthMod Shogun: II v3.6.
All Total War: Shogun 2 DLC and Campaigns are supported
and the realistic battle atmosphere becomes complete
with super effects that do not decrease FPS but increase it!

You want this!
Do not get lost in Feudal Japan's war turmoil!
DarthMod Shogun is the mod you were, are and will look for!

The new version has 1,5x unit size multiplier so you should get less than 500 men ashigaru. Check your installation.

In the settings you can have that set to a smaller number. It seems your playing on 2x, not 1x like the vanilla game.

HEADLESS-ZOMBIE Jan 26 2012, 5:44pm says:

I don't know if this is a bug or what but by turn 10 every faction just spams yari samurai in there armies. There armies are unbeatable by my army which is balanced army of ashigaru units and samurai units. I don't know if its just me having this problem but it makes this mod unplayable for me because I don't have the economy to support huge armies like that early in the game.

Arkitan Jan 26 2012, 7:53am says:

Naval combat is bugged pretty hard, at least for me.
The archers on the ships are extremely unresponsive and at some point all troops of a ship bug into a corner of the ship stairs. That happens on all ships, no matter if it is ai or player controlled, so that naval battles(especially larger ones) cannot be played and on top of that it is really frustrating.

DARTH__VADER Jan 26 2012, 11:56am replied:

"Bugged pretty hard" = very harsh. I would not say that nor others who play the mod. And seriously I do not notice anything you report.

Arkitan Jan 27 2012, 5:06am replied: There you go. This happens no matter what. I'd just like to hear your valued opinion on my problem. Thanks in advance and I really like your mod.

It shows the crew to be idle since they are not attacked, nor they have something to do. What I am missing?

Arkitan Jan 27 2012, 4:58am replied:

Well I think I've got a few screenshots which show the problem pretty good. Plus, I said, maybe it's only a problem on my end, but it IS bugged pretty hard for me. I can't play naval battles, because all ships are unable to take action at some point during the fight, because everybody stays in one spot on the ship.

MacDougal13 Jan 21 2012, 5:32pm says:

ok i have an issue getting the mod to work...
I have a non-steam version, with the newest patch and everything that works just fine. After installing darthmod into the correct file path i can get the launcher to pop up, but every time i launch the game itself it gets to the first loading screen before the videos and then just ctd or anything, it just goes

Copperhell Jan 22 2012, 4:16am replied:

Doesn't what you describe count as CTD (crash to desktop)?

Anyway, I'm using a non-steam version too and I have the same problem. I have admin access, so I don't know what to do either.

DARTH__VADER Jan 26 2012, 11:55am replied:

"No-Steam" versions are not supported by me so please do not ask. Just try to play or not.

Arkitan Jan 27 2012, 2:10pm replied:

"No steam" version? I bought the game at release for the full price, thank you sir. I am not sure whether I offended you or if you are annoyed by me, because in that case I apologize.Anyways I attached a proof, so if you didn't want to give me your opinion, because of legal concerns, you may now answer to me with the certainty that I do own Shogun2.

S.W.A.T Jan 27 2012, 3:46pm replied:

you a bought a retail version of the game (DvD) like me only thing is it requires steam to run like Empire + expansion Saga use Steam like a DRM to make sure you have a real copy of the game if your not using steam then you dont have a legit copy

MacDougal13 Jan 22 2012, 6:20pm replied:

so i guess nobody knows of a fix for this?
