Dark Interval is a total conversion mod, the new incarnation of the Original Storyline of Half-Life 2. You can find your way through the nightmarish world of devastated Earth. Starting from the suburbs of City 17, then continuing through the alien factories, the underwater base and the Citadel, you can feel that dark atmosphere of the Original Storyline. Development started on Apr 10, 2010.

What will the Kraken Base part of this be like? Will it be a short break in a way or will there be some action in it?

We do plan some action, of course. But I can't say what exactly it will be, except that our goal is to make the base feel like Black Mesa.
I thought cvoxalury will asnwer your question, he's the one who makes things. Maybe he will notice and correct me..

I really hope this mod succeeds, Black Mesa got me interested in playing through the HL saga again, and the HL2 beta has always fascinated me and seemed like something that I would have adored had it come to fruition.

I don't really see the correlation between Black Mesa and Dark Interval, nor why DI's release would depend on people being "bored with Black Mesa." But I suppose if you care about the attention then it applies. Whatever the case, I'm still very much looking forward to at least seeing some more updates from you.

Well, you are right as there is no correlation between these mods themselves and there's nothings that forces players to play one mod and don't be able to play another. And at least I think my levels will load faster :P
It's more that I personally was irritated by some «false merits» people praise BM for that DI might lack. But anyway there's still so much work that I wouldn't be surprised if BM team will release Xen and BMDM as well before DI's release.

That's actually a pretty sound idea, but I'm beginning to think that as the community as a whole begins to finish Black Mesa, they will begin to turn to the Operation: Black Mesa and guard Duty Mods.

These mods aren't as highly advertised for and by community, so I don't think they'll produce as much mass histery.
