Dark Interval is a total conversion mod, the new incarnation of the Original Storyline of Half-Life 2. You will find your way through the nightmarish world of devastated Earth. Starting from the suburbs of City 17, laying your path through the alien factories, the underwater Rebel base, war-engulfed city streets and the alien Citadel, you will feel that dark atmosphere of the Original Storyline. Development started on Apr 10, 2010.

Can we see an update, just to get that annoying red archived thing at the top of the page? Or is it really dead this time?

The archived thing is just an unfortunate nuisance. Bear with it a little longer. Oh, and while it says 'ceased development', the archiving also applies to mods that temporarily halted development (and I am developing at this very moment, so that's not the case either).

Phew. A huge wind of relief just passed me. Because I am Literally all hyper still cause I always wanted to experience the Old dark, atmospheric and more depressing Half Life 2, Honestly this is how it should've stayed instead of a uprising story of rebellion. some story is there but this will cover the real HL2 we all wanted. and you sir are nailing this so perfect. I can't wait to see a final release :D

I could be wrong, but I don't think anything happened. Mod DB just likes to archive mods that haven't seen updates in a few months. Of course there are mods that haven't been updated in years that still haven't been archived.

Moddb.com ... and the SEVENTH one of "Beta HL2" mods XD
(when we come to ten, we'll make a survival fight, there can be only one, ta-da!)

We've already passed the ten mods mark actually. In more or less chronological order w/o the ones pronounced dead:
1) Missing Information Moddb.com
2) Project 9 (I dunno, Hl2-beta.ru ?)
3) Old Story Moddb.com
4) Vertigo Hl2-beta.ru
5) Conscript Moddb.com
6) The Origin Moddb.com
7) Dark Interval
8) Insolence Moddb.com
9) RtB Moddb.com
10) Cremation Moddb.com
11) Depot Moddb.com
12) Town 17 Moddb.com
13) Dark Skies Moddb.com
14) Alpha Retaliation Moddb.com

And I might be forgetting some.

Are there any good leak story mods that aren't still in development/dead?

Story mods? As in, with in-game storyline being present and played through? Don't know of any, actually. Other than Missing Info if you count Borealis chapter with narrating done by a couple of voiced bits from the leak.

Essentially yes. Anything with custom content based on the old concepts.

There isn't any competition between all of these mods as far as I know. We're either helping each other out or leaving each other alone.
