Dark Interval is a total conversion mod, the new incarnation of the Original Storyline of Half-Life 2. You can find your way through the nightmarish world of devastated Earth. Starting from the suburbs of City 17, then continuing through the alien factories, the underwater base and the Citadel, you can feel that dark atmosphere of the Original Storyline. Development started on Apr 10, 2010.
Are you going to upload this mod this year? Or the next year?
PD: it looks very very good. Good luck.
I think the pre-release is this year's deal.
Great looking mod, glad to see its still alive!
Will this mod still be worked on, even though computers love to punish modders?
Of course! A man controls the machine and uses it to achieve desired =)
I think you should know about a big **** that happened. A hyper ****. The matter is, as I have installed Win 7 on a virtual disk, the installer seems to have mistaken my «SourceSDK» folder from the disk root with its «sources» folder and, more or less, deleted… no, obliterated the whole source base for the mod. Except the code sources (were in a separate folder) and most of model sources. So right now I'm trying to recover at lest vmf's. So far, using Active File Recover, I indeed have recovered many files that seem uncorrupt (at least by an unarmed eye, via Notepad), thanks to that I have only installed 7 couple of days ago and didn't write anything on the old volume.
And the moral is, don't leave your files on a system volume. Everyone should know that now.
Good God, that is the worst thing that could happen to a modder. Are you still going to work on it?
Yeah, I already recovered .vmfs, the fgd, config files. And the mod itself in totally unharmed, it just did not have all the materials. The textures, sounds — that'll all come with time.
The funny thing is that I came to that because I used Revoution SDK, a pirated one, 'cause I didn't want to have no deal with the Steam one. And now I'm forced to use the latter, anyway. With all its ungodly lagging and bugs.
And I know about a thing called «backups», yeah, I just lost them too (Acronis' fault, killed the file system on the usb drive. Don't use this ****).
It's 3 years actually. The work started at April 10th, 2010.
