This project aims to recreate the levels and playing experience of the LucasArts game Dark Forces using the modern 3D engine found in the game Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy.
We will be re-creating all 14 levels found in the original game and bringing them into the 21st century.
Given the capabilities of the modified Quake 3 engine this project is very exciting indeed. Weapons, enemies and models will be re-created aswell as other features of the original game.

The Dark Forces Mod for Jedi Academy, winner of LucasFiles.com Mod of the Year 2003 is preparing to release the long awaited "Second Demo" for JA. The demo will include the first six levels of the old Lucas Arts classic "Dark Forces." Release date is planned in time for Spring Break. Man I was a fan of Dark Forces. :)
Played the 6 level demo. Keep up the awesome work! The only things I don't like is the custom voice for Kyle Katarn. He sounds umm not professional. I know it's hard to find someone who sounds like young Kyle. Heck if you guys need help with that I sure can help. The levels are gorgeous! There is so much detail. I think the finished product will be as good as the original Dark Forces. On levels like Nar Shadaaa, Jabbas Ship, Detention center you should add civilians. In Nar Shadaa just random civvies walking around doing things. Jabbas ship, have spectator civvies that watch you battle the krayt dragons and gamble and drink. Have prisoners and interrogations in the detention center. In coruscant have civvies. All levels should have technicians in selected areas. I love everything you guys have added onto this already amazing game. If I didn't know better I would say this project was made by Lucasarts. One bug is with the cannon though, it only fires out of one cannonhole and alt fire doesnt shoot all of them. Also theres areas on the mining moon and detention center where it lags for no reason. Those need to be fixed. Keep up the awesome work guys.
