Dark Evolution is a total-conversion (or at least, that's what I'm aiming) modification for Starcraft. It features 3 races: The powerful Hell Zerg The resistant Exiled Protoss The massive Infested Terran. - Update - After being dead, Dark Evolution comes back to life, better than ever. The next release, 1.3, will include new music, as well as new sounds, more balance changes, spell changes and new units. A minimal of 5 units will be introduced in 1.3 release. I hope in future releases the number increases to 10 or 12 units. Every race has now a different gaemplay, since their strategy has changed in many ways. You may not rely anymore on the Zerg's regenartion ability, but you can trust in great ofensive power, as for the Terran you may take damage but the numbers will pay back, and the Protoss might even have lower numbers, but their resistance and considerable offensive power can be the best of weapons. You decide who wins in this race of survival.

Dark Evolution Mod might change the Exiled Protoss to the Xel'Naga race. I plan to make stone-like buildings, so Protoss strength will have a reason to be.
It's just an idea... But maybe the Hell Zerg will be switched to Hybrid Race. I will make enough GFX to make the difference feel.

For the next release the team will have done the apropiate Wireframe changes to the actual units, also currently I have been changing some spells, like Plage, now instead of overlaying a red goo it lits fire to the units!

If you play Hell Zerg, try using Terralisks or Metalisk, since thier attack expands, or if the game is just starting, try massing Crawlers. If you play Infested Terran, try using Diseasers. If you play Exiled Protoss, I know that because of time you can't get a Psion quickly, so try this: You should be quick enough to get a Disruption web upgraded Corsair, or a Templar with Psionic storm. I would sitck to Corsair+Disruption Web+ Golems.

Just for you to know, I will make a campaing, in order to explain the background of every single unit, thier uses, their weaknesses and general strategies vs every race. Of course, this will be for when the mod is finished, so everything you see is not definitive.

Because o the Birth animations, they crash if they are cancelled in Lurker morph, and, worst of all, they make Terran lose purpouse: They become so overwhelmingly massive that Terran look like a handful: I'm thinking of doing the Ultralisk one pre egg too :D
