Honestly, I think the UI (I don't mind the scoring system UI) is rather dull. With the Stamina, Hunger, Thirst and Hitpoints all lined up, it looks rather strange. Perhaps put Thirst and Hunger on one side (Right?) and Hitpoints and Stamina on the other (Left?). Or at least put HP on top, with Stamina directly under then followed by Hunger & Thirst.
On the other hand, I like the idea. I'd probably play it just to level or if possible, to collect things.
