You play as one of the human rebels - Frank Harrison, who's currently in his hideout outside City 17.
He's woken up by the Citadel explosion, caused by Dr. Freeman and Alyx Vance at the end of Half-Life 2. The evacuation of the City 17 is in progress and he has to leave his house to fight his way back to City 17 to join a evacuation train while there's still some time.
Gather your supplies and an old HEV suit and explore the territories of the City 17. Play your role in the events, that took place during the original Half-Life 2: Episodes 1 and 2.
It is recommended to play through Half-Life 2 series before playing this mod.

Only recently I've found out that DangerousWorld is Synergy positive and now you can enjoy the co-op support so anyone who would like to play this mod with his/her buddies, you are all set. I'm really happy that my mod has been granted this support even though I didn't know about it until this moment. I haven't tried it out yet so let me know how it performs.
As far as DangerousWorld 2 is concerned, I desperately lack free time as I'm going through the very last semester before my Bachelor's thesis and I'm overloaded with work. I sincerely hope I will find more time for it sooner than later.
I also want to remind you that the download of the full version of DW version 2.0 is missing a map. dw_ep1_04 has to be uploaded anew as it keeps freezing during installation, I need to give it a one more go. So if anyone wants to play, please, download also this missing map. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Ok, I can confirm that the 2.0 installer does NOT extract dw_ep1_03a.bsp
It is, however, included in the patch above it.
"When I saw this mod in PlanetPhillip´s hall of fame, i thought it was going to be something different.
Nothing outside the box, a strange looking feel. It makes you remember that the engine has been running since 2004. Most props are lit in the dark and are dark under the light. The lag is terrible even when efforts for improving performance are noticeable.
But what is worse is that there´s no ******* clue about how to advance in the first map. I´ve been playing without an EV suit for minutes being forced to use the last picked weapon and not being aware of my health. There´s nothing that hints about how to open the damn gate. I´ve been playing with the basement buttons and I had a motherboard that could not tell if it should be used somewhere. But nothing I did worked and ended giving up with a bitter taste. Would not recommend this mod to anybody, unless I want them to feel frustrated, sorry.
ah, also tried the forest bonus map. That one seemed a little better than the house in the coast IMO."
Sorry if that sounds harsh but that´s what i wrote when Moddb asked for a review when rated this mod, i gave it five points.
Just wondering what is wrong with it, the first Source thing that lags in my computer. And: Why everybody is saying it´s such a great mod when I could not even open the gate with fire around? Do great mods put the player in combat and later give them the EV suit? I must be missing something.
Did you even notice the sketch on the wall?
I mean, it isn't in english, but regardless it shows you what you need to do - activate the electricity.Just go up the road.
(The map is on the wall in the room with the HEV suit.)
The whiteboard you mean? I didn´t understand what to do. I realized that, first activating the green lightning button and then the explosion button would lit the fire next to the gate but that didn´t help because the thing was still closed.
I recently booted the mod up (Actually, it's worth being called "game") and as it turns out, something is broken. I was showing a friend the game; they complained that after launching the game got stuck on the loading screen between the dangerous world logo and the main menu. I confirmed this... TiiM, if you get any free time and it appears that the game has broken, could you please look into fixing this?

This is definitly one of the best mods ive ever played. The only thing that kinda annoys me is the fact that you get to find a gravity gun. That goes completely against the original game's story since as far as we know there is only one gravity gun and its in Gordon's hands. Other than that I really liked the idea of you meeting Barney and finding out how did DoG escapes from City 17. I also noticed it does take quite a while for the citadel to start its self destruction after Gordon and Alyx leave on their train unlike in episode 1 where it starts right away. Cant wait for Dangerous World 2 and I hope to see how does the Jalopy ended up in that destroyed bridge in episode 2 xD
I want to download this mod but many are complaining about bugs and such. Are you planning another release anytime soon? If not, I'll go ahead and download the full v2.0 that is up now and try it.
It looks great so I am looking forward to trying it!
The exe version that currently is up does not install dw_ep1_03a map.
