Doom 3 HD Mod Update 2
Nov 18, 2011 Patch 7 commentsDoom 3 + Resurrection of Evil High-Definition Mod 1.0 (Update 2)
This mod is designed to improve the quality of the graphics in Doom 3 and Doom 3 RoE. Includes various graphical mods that were released for Doom 3, which I "glued" together, set up and uploaded for you. Mod only changes the graphical component of the game. Gameplay is original.
Requirements:
Doom 3 must be patched up to 1.3.1 version.
The game must be without installed mods.
Installation:
Run setup.exe and install mod into your \Doom 3 folder
To fix a short FPS freezes, set in console (or edit in autoexec.cfg) char image_anisotropy to 8

Fixed, certified, correct way to install the mod (in english):
1- Download the update and mod. Install them to a folder.
2- Open this folder, copy the content inside d3hdm and d3hdmtr to a new folder. Certify that this new folder goes into the "...\Doom 3" folder (where you installed the game).
3- Ressurection of Evil owners only: Copy the content of d3xp, d3hdm and d3hdmtr to a new folder. Move it inside the "...\Doom 3" folder (or wherever you installed the game), then delete d3xp or move it somewhere else.
Optional steps:
Into each mod folder, there's a file called "description". Open it, then change the content and name it specifically Doom 3 HD and/or Doom 3 RoE HD properly to each one.
4-Ready for action. To play this mod, launch Doom 3 normally, then click MODS and choose the proper HD pack you want to play with. Remember to change the name in the description so you know which is which.
UPDATED Guide to installing the Doom 3 HD mod for Doom 3 and RoE properly:
1- Download both update and installation file.
2- Point to the folder where you downloaded Doom 3 (remember to check if "\Doom 3" is not doubly entered).
3- After installing the update and mod, copy the files of the d3hdm and hdmtr into a new folder. Then, change the file called "description" to something of your liking (Like Doom 3 HD Mod.)
4- Two things: After this step, remember to change the "description" file, which is a simple wordpad file and name it to Doom 3 Roe HD Mod, or something, so that you can access it in Doom 3 normal Mod tab in-game. Then, either copy the entire d3xphdm directly to d3xp (Ressurection of Evil DEFAULT folder. Warning: Doing this will replace it's normal textures, models and lighting to this mod's.) OR copy d3xphdm and d3xp into ANOTHER new folder,BUT move your d3xp folder somewhere else and name the new one with the mod files d3xp, for conflict issues.
that's it.
F.A.Q.
Why not copying the base doom 3 folder to this mod's ?
It only needs to be done with doom 3 Roe since it's seen as a mod for Doom 3 engine.
changing descriptions:
Please, name your files, inside the mod folder, after installed, to something other than (Do not change folder), so that you know which is which, Doom 3 HD and RoE Hd.

Hello. I've installed the Doom 3 HD Mod (HD Mod + Update 2), but the game does not start.
It nothing happens when I click on the new shortcuts.
I have the original DVD Version (without RoE) of the game and the 1.3.1 patch installed.
There were no problems with the installation.
My System:
Acer Aspire 5930G Notebook
Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.40GHz
nVidia GeForce 9600M GT
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
DirectX 11
The old shortcut starts the game normal. But this mod does not run?
Anyone know why? Many thanks in advance!
SORRY, it works! I had it installed at the wrong target folder.
In the settings are 1280 x 720 16:9 or 1280 x 768 16:10 for selection. But I cant´t find 1280 x 800? Is there any solution for this? If I choose 1280 x 768 I have small bars at the top and bottom.
What graphiccard do you have?
Nvidia or AMD?
I figured out my problem. My solution is below. Although sometimes 20+ but playable and still pretty.
By the way: The funny thing is that only the softshadows affect the fps. Nothing else. Strange huh? I think it has to do with the sikkmod and problems with AMD cards...
Hi sorry for the late reply (just catching up). I have a Nvidia GTX460m 1.5GB. And yeah it does seem strange. I didn't continue to make any further changes after I found the sweet spot for my system. 63fps is good enough for me. Have you sorted to where you're happy with it?
I have Nvidia videocard. Game works without graphic problems. Softshadows not strongly load a card.
Really. There is some incompatibility Sikkmod with AMD video cards.
