Previously known as the 'Faction Fronts Mod', Clear Skies is a large scale modding initiative, to re-design and expand S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. With the umbrella motive of creating a realistic, graphically superior and entertaining hybrid of the original game concept. Built from the best works the stalker clear sky modding community has to offer, along with the personal works of members from 828 studios. Clear Skies is an all inclusive package, designed towards a single vision, with a consistent level of quality and attention to detail.

First of all before I start with all the news I would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter weekend. I hope you are all having a fantastic day with family and friends. Time has just flown by since I posted the last alpha on moddb and RL commitments have since taken over a vast majority of my time. As a result of this, the mod page has sat in a state of dormancy, to make it clear I do intend to finish the mod to the best of my abilities but it will most likely be a solo project from here on. The coming (Winter) recess is the most likely time I will begin to add content to the mod and add the finishing touches. Unfortunately though my skills are very limited in the field of scripting, as I have always been more capable with graphics over code. However I intend to provide a stable fully playable content rich mod and attempt to eliminate some of the issues by removing the overcomplicated, heavily scripted features that tend to fall apart some times, even if this means losing some of the more advanced functionality.

To end it off, the final state of the mod largely depends on how many skills I can acquire before I finish it. Then again I will always be open to working with people who would like to join and assist in development. However sadly clear sky and the stalker modding scene is slowly beginning to decline as the platform continues to age.

Good mod so far, though I'm starting to run into difficulties when trying to save. I get black screens when either using hard or quick saves. Using task manager reveals no obvious signs, so I don't know what's causing the problem.

Other personal observations are :

* I don't like the 'shivering' sound your player's too often and unnecessary imo.

* It would be nice to be able to trade all weapons in all conditions (like in Misery 2).

You cannot trade weapons in bad condition in any version of Misery.

Or maybe you mean that traders should not buy highly damaged weapons in CS.

Last sentence in your post is rather confusing.

Absolutely love this mod, it has not only rekindled my love for Stalker, but also for video games in general.

The only problem I see is the soft economy, I had to go along and rework most item prices to bring the player progression and pacing into line with the games RPG element.

I always thought that STALKER series is more into FPS than RPG. I personally don't like to stay in one map for long time. So if current economy makes the story go faster, count me in. But if its too fast then i'm out.

only major problem im having is that the military have become bullet sponges, i realize they are military and all, but come on a whole clip of an ak 74? one minor problem is that it seems that the ai has aimbot, once again i realize military/high ranking stalkers will be more accurate, but they seem to be hitting me whether their gun is physically capable of that accuracy or not. Just throwing that out there, so far i've had a lot of fun and the mod is light years better than the original game.

After I have completed my exams I am going to start working on the next version of the mod. You can expect a few new features and bug fixes in addition to tweaks and balancing.

best mod for clear sky ive found so far (although i have not played old story since its only in russian : /)

& ive posted this in a comment below but inchase you dont se it ill post it here too : )
the protecta (shotgun) is rather messed up (it's position is far up to the right, you can se part of the un-modeled arm and stuff so yeah.. it fires fine. just breaks immersion a rather lott : / )

other than that its been a great and funn experience so far :d

tried to implement the m134 into your mod with no luck : /
would have been great though ;D
& if anyone could help me with info it would be great
see the thing is i can get it into the spawn menu (ammo as well) "but" as soon as i click ok after spawning it or the ammo the game crashes with a rendering error or something a-like

anny thoughts? : p

Reached Yantar, and found out that the unarmed zombies will not attack and are completely harmless, taking the tension away naturally as they become trivial knife-work. Any idea how this could be fixed? Also relating to mutants, they run around a lot instead of homing in on the player, this makes them a shooting gallery most of the time. More attack_power?

Wow, looks and sounds better than anything else on Clear Sky! Even though some textures look blurry and lack resolution. The stalkers' camo variety is stunning! But it started to crash without log randomly after I entered Cordon. On Swamps - not a single crash. Anyone knows what might cause that?
Another issue - vanilla small bugs still present. Really hope the devs will continue their work on this beautiful mod.

Weird, didn't crash on me that way, so unless you didn't have a clean latest patch install before applying the mod, crashing seems to occur randomly to certain people.

just as a note, ive been playing this mod for a few days now, gon trough swamps, cordon, garbage, dark valey, agroprom and the scientist bunker area (yantar isnt it? : p) and i have actually not had a single crash since the very start, and the way i fixed that is turn everything of dx10 to dx9 (anything else than dx10) cause i firmly belive dx 10 was released after the any of the stalker game's and any official patch releases and therefore it does not like dx10 (when i had it on dx 10 it was crashing every 5 min or less)

but as mentioned it has not crashed a single time since i changed that,
hope that helps someone : )
