What is going on?

When I first announced Clear Skies, I intended to build something way better than the old Faction Fronts mod. I wanted to deliver something that was content rich, bug free and immersive on a completely new level. It is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of the road for the Clear Skies mod. But it can't be said that the project was a total loss.

The team at 828 Studios created some truly spectacular features that gave this project its own identity amongst most other mods, however circumstances can change and with most of the team moving on from modding to tackle real life circumstances the project is no longer worth pushing, given my skillset in primarily graphics and configs, the reality is I don't have the resources to take this project to the level I want it by myself. Not to mention the third year of my studies in Mechanical Engineering isn't freeing up any extra time.

So what now?

Well this is where things hit a curve ball of sort. While I have given up the project I founded, I am going to be joining up with another modder who is currently developing the Clear Sky Mod "The Road to Limansk".

So while this project is over, something far better is in the works, I encourage you all to visit the mod page for The Road to Limansk and track it! The project needs your support.

There will be no further updates to Clear Skies, the project is officially dead. You can all un-Track it

* Agroprom crashes when I accept missions from the duty squad at entry or getting near the duty base. I can get to the base if I make duty hostile, but if I kill them all off I can't talk to the general and can't get to the underground. Can't proceed with the game :(

* Most "faction war" missions are bugged.

* CS faction doesn't seem to need you to recapture the swamps, I had to run frantically to get some of the action. CS never captures the north-east bandits camp and the bandits keep recapturing a point needed for traveling out of the map. Also, when I came back to the swamps I lost all my reputation with CS faction.

* In cordon I captured the north passage but they didn't send a squad to hold it. They eventually did sometime later.

* At the garbage I captured the bandits base but the stalkers didn't send a squad to hold it too. Only once, when I came back from dark valley, there were a couple of stalker squads that did capture the bandit base, but it didn't reproduce.

* At the dark valley, at the antenna triangulation mission the south post was conquered (before I even arrived there) but freedom soldiers were still "agitated" and the mission wasn't complete (as if some bandit was still lurking around off the map); had to load a save a couple of hours back.

* At agroprom it's impossible to sleep at the stalkers base at night, I kept getting killed by a spawning dog, even when trying to sleep on a ladder!

Many of these things you are listing are complete vanilla bugs and therefore have nothing to do with the mod itself, as this isn't primarily a bugfix-mod I suppose ;)

It's just the sort of problems you encounter with STALKER Clear Sky in general, so I sadly have to come back with "deal with it".

Great Mod! Flawless so far for me. Got to Cordon, talked to Sidorovich, got the quest from Wolf to help the Stalker with the dogs. As I approach the mission area, I get the same bug.

I can roam the area without getting the mission, all is fine.
Right when I activate the mission from Wolf and approach the mission area, BAM, same error/bug.

I tried a bunch of things including a different save from swamps before Cordon, running in winxp sp3 comp mode. I think this error is on my end only, seeing as this is a pretty popular mission and no one has seemed to have trouble with it in the past. Any ideas? (not running dx10)

Hi guys and gals.. If the following question has already been answered somewhere else, please forward me to it. Thank you kindkly.

First, I've installed latest version of alpha with latest patch, absolutely no other mods or addons, in a different directory than the default. Also not Steam version.

Now the question: The renegades do not once stop and stay at the "encampment near truck" in order for me to ask "how can I help you" and get the corresponding mission.

I've already completed the entire swamps quests and all. I've tried restarting from the beginning several times. I've also tried going to the Cordon and then coming back, but the renegades keep coming to fight all the way to the Machine Yard, and the bodies keep piling up! The renegades and Clear Sky corpses litter the place!

I did follow all "next missions" and conquered the corresponding bases appropriately.

The renegades did manage to kill a couple of my fellow Clear Sky warriors when I first got the conquer the Southern Farmstead mission, but I don't think this is what's breaking that one mission.

Any insight into this issue will be very much appreciated.

When I tried to use cfg_load setting.ltx the console told me it couldn't load it and didn't. Additionally when I reached the fishing hamlet and a fight started the game crashed, no report. It just froze and showed my windows cursor over the game, I had to task manager and kill it. Any idea what to do?

Playing on DX8 seems to cause the crashing, dx9 works fine. Also I was typing
cfg_load setting.ltx
when I should've been typing
cfg_load settings.ltx

Install has it wrong
