You wake up in a dark alley, not knowing anything. What has happened anyway? You struggle after the truth and answers. Answers you want to know in the darkness and fear, which makes your heartbeat race like violent blows against your head. Where do "they" come from? What has happened? Are you just turning insane? The time is up; you can't stay there reading your smses forever. It's time to head out and find the answers. Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO half-life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.

Oh man... :O I'm out of words... that was breathtaking... I never thought I would be amazed by a mod made in a game engine that old... Speaking of which: I don't get why you guys along with a whole lot of other guys still stick to the Half-Life 1 engine? Is it because it's easier to use, or is it because HL1 is easier to customize, more adjustable? Forgive me if it was a "n00b" question, heheh... :S

I still think this looks like a source mod. :P I read that you guys are absolutely pushing goldsrc to it's limits, refractive water and motion blur to be specific. Is that true? Anyway, this mod looks awesome, the work is incredible.

Let me guess: When you die, you see a third person sequence of the player being killed by whoever done you in in a very gruesome way.

They told that the Chainsaw Dude is the first boss. You have to fire at it and after a couple shots, it immobilizes on the ground for a short while, when it's doing that, you can go behind it, and shoot a large eye in it's back and it looses some health. If it hits you with the chainsaw, that cutscene where Simon gets cut in half starts.
