You wake up in a dark alley, not knowing anything. What has happened anyway? You struggle after the truth and answers. Answers you want to know in the darkness and fear, which makes your heartbeat race like violent blows against your head. Where do "they" come from? What has happened? Are you just turning insane? The time is up; you can't stay there reading your smses forever. It's time to head out and find the answers. Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO half-life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.
Okay, this has been a long time coming, but it's finally here: The unspectacular sequel to the first videocast. Featuring, in order of appearance, Minuit (me), Andreas (ruMpel), Stig (DragonNor). Topics covered: Engine update and Simon being a clumsy douche, Andreas' cat and speed mapping, voice acting and a bit of fun roleplay from Stig. Enjoy!

We've spent a long time working on the mod lately, and progress has been going absolutely brilliantly. Ignore what ruMpel says about girlfriend and College holding us back (don't worry, I'll beat him up later) the mod progress has been literally rocketing ahead. Well, not literally, but practically. That familiar site of 70% on the progress bar will be creeping up in the very near future. For those who have waited patiently, here's a screenshot (as well as the video of course) to reward you. Enjoy:

Yeah, the video is not working for me.
yeah it won't work for me too. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
Video is failing
no video. FUUUUUU
There, it's fixed after wrestling with ModDB for HOURS.
Yay!
Great videocast once again! Looking great for the mod.
With all these new features, I am kinda worried that Cry of Fear won't work on my damn vista! Other than that, just absolutely stunning work! I have a question for rumpel though, what kind of vst were you using there in the video?
What do you mean with vst?
Virtual Studio Technology... You were using one when you were demonstrating your use of FL studio... I was asking what was it.
Ah yes. I totally forgot about what vsts was. Was long time ago since I installed them.
I'm using HERCs Abakos (Synth)
really like the stair falling down thing.
Finally we hear Simon's voice. Gotta say, Dragonnor, you're a very promising voice actor. Can't wait to hear you ingame.
Really enjoyed this cast guys, since it's very personal and different (compared to ingame footage etc) I find it more enjoyable to watch. Can't wait for next :).
Thanks Cheesezorz :) Allthough that clip is old now, and in the meantime I've done some work as the hacker in 'Cube experimental' where I felt I really had to push myself because of the skill of the german actor doing the original, so things are coming along better and better :D
Nice video! I am glad you guys finally managed to add "Paranoia" render to your mod. Looks sweet! Can't wait to play it! :)
Thank you man. Your team has really made the GoldSrc engine interesting again. We'll credit your renderer for sure. :P
haha nice you use FL Studio and GP5 xD
paranoia was nice, good idea to use that renderer *be patient* *be patient*
Hehe :P Yeah well, we only moved to their base because our base was too buggy and was freezing a lot. But now they're gone, might also be because James, as he said, had to recode everything.
Keep up the awesome work, y'all.
The bar hasn't changed in forever.
There's a reason why.
The progress bar was going up smoothly until we decided to recode everything with a new base (the old was too buggy). And when we had to start from the beginning, the progress bar should have dropped down to 50. But we never changed that. So now we can say we've just reached 70 again.
And?
i have been waiting for this!!
Yay! Nice vid!
I like the lighting of the maps and it was cool to see how that random map was whipped up. The voice actor is a good choice - nice entry btw.
That falling-down-the-stairs-effect is also a winner. It always bugged me how you were jogging down a staircase in full speed in Half-Life without any halfway realistic feedback like broken ankles or something >;-)
Nice job there guys.
Mod is looking great, looking forward to playing it.
