Crossfire 1.9 Client Version
Oct 8, 2011 Full Version 158 commentsThe nomad conflict was just the beginning. Years passed by, alliances formed and the enemy returned. The war has just begun. Get prepared for the Dark...

That is what we have thought for centuries but we were wrong. A new threat waiting for aeons has moved out of the dark. We have seen them, we have fought them, we have gained an important victory but we were not aware that they were not the only ones hiding between the stars. Now we have stumbled into a galactic war that had been raging ten thousands of years.
Mankind on the loosing side, in the middle of Crossfire.

The Crossfire Mod is by far the biggest and most complex Freelancer modification available. For many years this mod is known for highest quality and innovative ideas which we have introduced to the Freelancer modding scene.
With Crossfire we have build and extended an universe based on the original Freelancer game and its story. Realism and a logical development of the quest based storyline and the game environment such as the systems and the technological development is most important on this mod. Crossfire is not a static mod like most others, it is a dynamic developing environment with dynamic economy, dynamic universe, destructable solars and download content (DLC) which introduces new quests, new ships, new systems and new equipment.
Most important in this mod is the atmosphere.
High quality graphics, high quality music tracks, more than 150 very detailed systems, new voice samples, stunning effects, many challenging quests, ten thousands of small side stories and rumours, fantastic gameplay and hundreds of cool ships. That is the Crossfire mod.
Crossfire continues the epic adventures of Edison Trent. Get ready for a brand new experience in a breathtaking and extraordinary environment. This mod is the unofficial sequel to Freelancer with the most stunning graphics and worlds you have ever seen. Jump into an atomspheric universe full of surprises, challenges incredible adventures. Experience the awesome gameplay, highest quality and unique features of Crossfire.
Soon Crossfire will reach its 10th chapter and over the years this project truly developed into a full sequel of the game. Stay tuned for more news about Freelancer Crossfire. Give us your feedback and tell us what you expect from the new story addon at www.swat-portal.com
Freelancer 2.0 - Crossfire
You might have wondered why there was no update since December 2012. Reason is simple: we started a new community project at the SWAT Portal which needed our attention. With other words, we were busy with something else. Since that project is running very well now and does not need our attention anymore the CF dev team is back working on Crossfire 2.0 now.
In the next few days and weeks we will do more updates here at moddb and of course also on our main Forum (www.swat-portal.com).

Crossfire is the best looking Freelancer mod. Hard to believe that this game was released seven years ago.

You probably heard of this Bug many many ... way too many times but when i Play Crossfire (1.9) All the new Textures are white multiple People on the Forums already posted something about that maybe someone knows a fix?
actually there is only one active topic about it and the problem was either graphic card errors (namely texture size limit) or missing files on the client PCs
Well it seems that my Graphic Card seems to be absolutely fine and there are no missing files anywhere so i dunno what said error is since it worked 6 months ago
Finally got a new pc to play 1.9 but for some reason when im playing it will stop randomly and i have to restart the game it happens about a half hour into the game any suggestions?
never heard of that before
maybe its best to ask on the CF forum (www.swat-portal.com) about it, probably somebody else had this problem before
Can you tell me how this mod is working exactly? I mean does it start the SP with the new story missions or I can start the original campaign and then continue with the new story missions?
the new campaign starts right after the old one
This is nice! I was planning to replay Freelancer again sometime but I decided to wait for 2.0 and beat the vanilla campaign and then move on to the Crossfire's story in one go :)
Does the new story line is totally dependent on the online server? Or it is available in offline too?
you can play it offline but some stuff is only available on the server
