Well the name Sirius in FL is I think not meant to represent the stars Sirius A and B, since they are only 8.6LY from Sol. In the intro cinematix the narrator is mentioning, that the sleeper ships are heading to Sirius System, but I think the makers of the game just made a factual error. I think the Sirius Sector could be anywhere in our galaxy. Or they were actually heading to Sirius system, but they ended up in a distant part of the galaxy and just named it Sirius.
