Coven Logo

Human population reaches unprecedented numbers.
Poverty, hopelessness, starvation, and overcrowding; testaments to our success.
More and more people giving in to The Temptation.
Humanity imploding under the weight of its growing hate of all things free.

Take sides in the showdown of all times.

Cast your vote by killing. Vampire or Slayer. One side will prevail.

Coming to Get You            Ouch

But wait, you say, what happened to Coven 3.1? And where exactly have you guys been for the past year?
Like so many mods, Coven proved to be no match for the Valve source 2006 update patch that was released last year. The development team decided to take hiatus from the mod, but Coven never truly left our hearts.
After having some success porting the mod to OB, we decided to jump in head first and recode Coven entirely.
What you see now is the old Coven as we truly envisioned it. And no, not George Lucas style. We promise.

Coven: the future
As you may have noticed, Coven could use some original artwork. Going forward, the Coven team is looking for 2D artists, 3D modellers, and mappers to help us take Coven to the next level. Head over to the forums to introduce yourself if you would like to contribute your talent!

You should highlight the fact somewhere that this mod requires HL2DM, it does need it, doesnt it? I hate when you have to dig this information like in several mods for Ep2 that dont state it more blatantly.
Btw, free HL2DM for Ati and Nvidia owners:
They dont include Source 2006 SDK though.

Default extract directory should nowadays be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\Coven
At least in my opinion :)

Anyway nice fun mod.
Hope you will add in future custom models for slayers and vamps.
And custom sounds would be nice as well. And an option to vote alltalk off. Alltalk ruins the atmosphere.

:) Ya for sure, HL2DM.

Look for more Custom Models and other content in the future. And the alltalk thought is a good possibility for a vote feature.

We are the classic "do it for fun" hobbyists so we have to do things around work schedules and the like, but look for more content and continued evolution of gameplay as we put in the new character abilities and weapons we have planned.

hope to see you around

did you put the files in a folder named coven?
the files are all loos and you need to put them in
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\coven
the \coven needs to be added yourself

First thing I can suggest is make sure you check all the different games lists in the new Steam UI. It won't show up on this one but will on that one, sorta thing. If THATS not it try poking around our forums for someone with similar issue or perhaps similar experience.

Hope it sorts out.

Best recommendation is poke around and ask on the forums, I know some folks running 64 bit windows had had something like that happen, some also didn't tho. Check around and we will look into it.

Look for a patch in the next few days. Minor things, balancing/mapcontent. This will be a patch; the next character update will follow in the coming weeks.

So far 3.0 has been solid, stable, and is yielding pretty much the gameplay we wanted; expect some minor changes in the patch but for the most part nothing too major. For the next char update we have chosen a Slayer character...

Come down and check out the forums, and also if you're interested, join the Coven Steamgroup for any scheduled games/announced pick up games.

Hope to see you in game :)
