Counter-Strike is a modification (MOD) to the excellent game, Half-Life. It modifies the multiplayer aspects of Half-Life to bring to it a more team-oriented gameplay. Counter-Strike provides the player with an experience that a trained counter-terrorist unit or terrorist unit experiences.
The MOD is team-based featuring one team playing the role of the terrorist and the other team playing the role of the counter-terrorist. Each side has access to different guns and equipment, as well as different abilities. Maps have different goals such as: hostage rescue, assassination, bomb defusion, Terrorist escape, etc.
Weapons include the usual assortment of pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, demolition devices. Each side has access to a different subset of weapons so for example only the counter-terrorist can use the M4A1, and only the terrorists can use the AK-47.
We are confident that we've created a MOD quite unlike any other. We hope you will be immersed in the frightening and intense world of Counter-Terrorism.

This Game rules more than anything it rules everything nothing beats this game...well there is persons cheating then it will not be funny to play but i say Cheating-Death is the best thing if administratig you´re own server i just say that COUNTER-STRIKE RULEZ!!!!
I am not a cheater at this game and this game rules but these people posting in here that are bitching are the ones that DON'T make the game fun. These are the type of ppl that bitch in every server because they fucking suck at the game and when ever they die they say u cheated because they SUCK!!!!!!!! So why don't you fucking whiners fucking shut the fuck up you god damn bitches!!!
My oppinion is that this game is very interesting, especially when you are angry with someone. (explanation: you set the name of the person to the bot and set it dummy or something, and start playing... Very good way not to smash the face of the person in real world :P ) It's also very good playable on slow machines (ex. laptops), not like Unreal that needs 1024MB ram to play good :evil:
My coclusion would be: Best Game(mod) Ever!
this is what killed the mutliplayer game,
if you want to play this game fine, but you should know that the chances are your going to be killed by a cheater in your first round, and it also started this "1337" where faggots kill a number of people in a row with there aimbot and then say "0mFg 1 1s t3h 1337" and they have several newbie suck ups with them also with aimbots excet they are not as good at using them.

P.S. Ok, it has been updated you moron, Condition Zero is the update, Valve just made you pay for it. It is not dead either, dead means it has not been updated and nobody plays it (aka Lots of the mods on this site..)
