How have you been. You monster.? GLaDOS would ask... Well, we've been busy with a new version for "THE CORE". Inspired by the instant classic 3D-shooter "Quake" we are working on a new style for our "Portal 2" mod. We are adding new elements to it as well as giving all maps a new touch. CosmicD is creating new deadly puzzles and Darth_Brush is re-crearting all maps and is providing them with more details and brushwork. This mod doesn't take place in the Aperture Science universe anymore, it takes place in a dark digital nightmare.
After the first release we decided to go far away from the original "Portal 2" style and "THE CORE" will get an own remarkable look. We've kicked it into 5th gear with development and today we can show you some in-game screenshots:

I am completely stuck at map 6. Does anyone have a walkthrough of it or something? Because I have no idea of how to get up to the room with the button in it.
thx for the appreciation. In the 6th map you need to pay very good attention to certain things. Why is the gel falling on the glass and is there something you can do about that ? There's a camera that you can use to look not only at your own reception room, should something maybe come out of the other one ?
Oh god, I feel kinda stupid now :D Gonna try out my idea.
Other than that, this mod is amazing. You didn't just re-use the puzzle style of Portal 2, but you invented new things, some of them REALLY clever (the gravity stuff in Map 1)

Wow, awesome stuff. Finished it before some hours, simply loved it. Tricky puzzles, required some thinking before acting. Keep it up, dude.
Hello. I'm waiting for the moddb staff to release this. It's ready and I hope you will have fun with it if it's made public!
Again a note to clarify why there were so many "release dates" appearing for this mod. After october 4th when valve updated portal 2 for the dlc, there have been other methods I had to find out about to present this campaign in another way. While I'm on this business I sometimes just find glitches and engine traps I have to overcome; The latest one is that I cannot seem to load my savegames.This is the latest "setback" BUt I hope I can solve it the coming days and I can finally release this.

I regret to inform that I have to delay the release, just because something unexpected happened, namely the game will no longer read custom campaign vpk's. I'm not sure if I have to create an entire mod system just for a few custom maps that are not a real modifications but as of now there's no support in the game to play addon campaigns without having to recreate the installer to continue every file individually instead of the vpk itself, and I'm not sure I want to infiltrate the player's main game folder with all my materials and other data.
So we'll have to see how valve will adressthis in the future.
