This mod blatantly rips off Battlefield command point-style gameplay and brings it to C&C. Players fight to capture and hold strategic command points scattered across the map, which results in a convergence of opposing forces at valuable strategic locations.
What you can expect from Convergence in the coming weeks

I am the only person developing this mod. I've found myself in a unique two month period of doing absolutely nothing, and am throwing together this mod as a side hobby during that time. Once July comes my life gets hectic and this mod is over, unless someone volunteers to pick it up.
That being said, the mod is basically done. At the moment each side has 2 infantry, 2 vehicles, and 2 aircraft, so it's really not content-heavy. Fingers crossed the gameplay makes up for it.
My future plans are...
- Begin posting news explaining what each of the existing units and sides are.
- Look to interested viewers for advice on what additional units I should add. Seriously, I'm not the only one who is going to play this (hopefully), so if you've got a cool idea you'd like to see put in feel free to write up a proposal and post it here, if I can see a use for the unit and like the idea I'll make it and put it in. I ask that you wait until I've explained stuff a bit though, so you have a rough idea of what I'm looking for with the mod's intended setting.
- Finish polishing. The two things I'd really like to get done are have a generic UI (frankly I'd be happy if I could just clone GDI's UI to all sides - having the red Nod stuff everywhere makes no sense for the US side) and have a workable AI (One side's unique unit recruitment system makes the AI stop working). The AI is important because, let's be honest, people don't play RTS mods online and future downloaders need someone to play against. On that note, if you're good with AI and wouldn't mind a challenge (and an early version of Convergence) let me know.
- Maps. I'm pretty bad at mapping. Ok, I'm terrible at it. If you want to kick a map my way I'd be thrilled. Alternatively, if you have already made a map and released and want to give me permission to go through it, remove Tiberium and tech structures and add control points that'd be great too. The gameplay needs a certain type of map with certain things on it, so I can't release with just the C&C3 maps.
-Really, other than that there's nothing else left to add. I'd love to get another faction or two in there, but like I said I've only got two months. Don't expect big things here, there are plenty of other more ambitious mods out there. This one will be released, however. Like I've been alluding to, there is enough already done that I could release it right now and call it a beta, so even if I lose interest some version will be made public.
