An ambitious total-conversion modification for Relic's award-winning Company of Heroes franchise, Modern Combat transports players into the midst of a high-tech
war between the current-day Chinese and U.S. militaries.
Incorporating all-new factions, units, doctrines, gamemodes, artwork, music, maps, and singleplayer
missions, we aim
to craft the most immersive and enjoyable strategic representation of 21st-century combat possible on the PC.

Our team has adhered wherever possible to the unique and innovative gameplay mechanics that made CoH the fantastic RTS that it is. Players will need to rely
upon a variety of traditional tactics in order to succeed, such as directional cover and weapon teams, doctrinal abilities and combined-arms unit formations,
whilst at the same time utilising to full effect the highly-advanced weaponry and equipment employed by the armed forces of today. Modern Combat caters to newcomers and veterans alike, and incorporates both conventional and 'Hardcore' damage systems.

Hi everyone. Time for another patch!

We haven't changed anything major this time around, however there are some important alterations that should probably be explained in more detail.

Firstly, we've disposed of the old MSI installer, which was becoming unintuitive and causing issues with repeat installations. We've reverted to a simple but reliable archive format instead

We've also added an Uninstaller to make things easier. If you have an existing version of the mod, you need to uninstall it before extracting v1.019!

For detailed installation instructions, please visit our official download page at the following address: Coh-moderncombat.com

Secondly, we've added 7 new maps by Omnicron and Unreal-Eugen, who have done a fantastic job in not only making these maps for you but in finding innovating new ways to use existing assets. We hope you like them!

We've also removed a number of unconverted community maps that were added to the mod despite being set during WWII and containing no modern assets.

The team has been quiet lately; we've been reduced to only a few people, and we're all beset by real-life obligations that have drastically reduced the time we can contribute to further development of this mod.

That said, we hope to persevere and have exciting plans for the future. It'd be premature to make promises at this point... but if all goes as planned then you can look forward to a new iteration of Modern Combat unlike any that have come before it. More news on this at a later date.

We hope you enjoy Modern Combat 1.019, and that all the players who have been experiencing installation problems can finally run the game without issue. Sorry it had to be a full re-release and not just a patch, but it was the only way for us to ensure everyone stays compatible online.

Have fun!

MC developer team please I want see this mod in the first 3 position of DB mod...

Can you upload any pictures of any new things you are making? that can be more attractive for the community and generate more post or comments...

Should be more interesting if you upload new pics now that if you upload the new pics with the next patch release...

In this time the people only open the site and they do not see any change...

I know that you try to make all like a big surprise but that does not work much... it is better make something like publish or ads, to maintain the community active....

I hope you can heard my suggestion... Thank you so much, eternally grateful AAMC4... good luck guys =D

Alright.

You probably already know that we've been planning some major revisions (almost a complete re-release in fact). It may be better if, like you said, we make the process more public and open to critique/suggestions.

We've had design documents for a while and I've already completed a lot of the core coding, but we don't have many fancy new assets to show off just yet. However we DO have a huge number of unconventional ideas that we think will be new and innovative.

So maybe what we'll do is release some faction outlines and possibly some YouTube shorts to demonstrate the more unique gameplay concepts we're introducing. Right now I'm extremely busy (4 assignments due within the next week), but I'll see what I can do once I find some free time.

"Design documents" sounds so professional ^^

You mean you have the factions written out like the previous head of development had it? Like: "US - Versatile & powerful. Rifles are key. Stryker can be upgraded different ways. Supertanks as call-ins".

"PLA - Four tier buildings like PE. Large squads and specialized. Upgrades improve the squads in what they're already good at. Buildable main battletank. Buildable artillery."

Basically you got it like a gamedeveloper that has the basic design on paper before they start to code like Blizzard ?

Yeah, although significantly more detailed. Every structure, doctrine and unit described in depth; numbers, weapons, abilities, upgrades, roles, relationships... you name it.

Almost everything will been changed somewhat, so it's best to be thorough and have a good plan to stick to.

Do not worry "Spoon".. it is not necessary do it right now... I just give new ideas to maintain this mod in the first DB mod position...

We know that you have lots of responsibilities in the real life...

I really glad that you will take my suggestion about make publish new images about anything before the new patch release...

Good luck with your evaluation... and thank you so much brother...

That might actually work. Like Blizzard did after the StarCraft II announcement. They revealed one unit every two weeks. Now that didn't really work out because the units abilities changed but it IS a good way to keep interest up.

The downside is that the developers might get lots of flak just like Relic got when they once announced changes in a new patch before it was released.

Spoon seem to have thick skin though so he can handle it :D

A good idea. Maybe we could stage the announcement of tech trees and doctrines rather than individual units.

Flak is fine. Much better to receive (constructive) criticism before everything's polished up. :)

Exactly my brothers...

You can publish anything, it is not necessarily need to be a new unit... any change you made could be published... on this way the community will be more active, will make comments, questions, answer, they can give their own opinion, suggestions... etc

I am totally agree about what Campaigner said.

I saw how mods that was outside the 100 rank they made published a new image and they suddenly are inside 20 ranks... A single new image can be the difference... totally demonstrated...

This mod deserve be inside the 3 first position in my oppinion...

I think it's a great concept and everything, but really it's just Vanilla with reskins and different voices. That's what I felt when playing it, though I am a Blitzkrieg follower I prefer my tanks to kill light armored personal cars in 1 shoot and not 4 shoots, I also experienced sligtly problems playing with infantry as PLA does a pretty bad job against Amerian infantry but when I get my tanks I dominate the Battlefield. It's like the AI never really deploys tanks but only light armored cars, even…
