You ought to make it so they have randomized weapons. I mean they could have M1 Garand or the M1 Thompson or the M1A1 Carbine or the M3 greasegun but it's not always the same. Plus I dislike the lack of the use of the M1 thompson and the M3 greasegun.
I don't think you can randomize weapons throughout a squad, you could probably make the paratrooper call-in choose randomly between 3 types of airborne squads, each one with a different weapon setup but that is it. That would also take up more space for no reason so I won't do that.
As for the Thompson/M3 Greasegun well those are definately a part of the airborne sub-faction but not for the regular para-riflemen squad. The engineers and captain get the the thompson (although the engineers don't get it until you unlock it in the doctrine tree.) There is also an ability in the airborne-tree which is where you get 1-2 squads (with slightly different uniforms) from a nearby unit and the squad comes off map, they can purchase SMG's.
Good! Because they're WAY underused in the game!
Randomizing weapons is one of the most basic things in COH modding. Just copy the EPB of the para, give it another weapon, and add it to the squad.
thats not random? its pre determined what the weapons will be and who gets what, I meant actually randomness. The closest I can get is making the call-in squad random and have it choose between 3 different squads (only difference being how many of each soldier there is in the squad)
